Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2025 Wishlist:

Yes, please a B 1, Here I go head first how about a B2 spirit and B21 Raider pairing or even one of either, for that matter, dreaming on, how about an SR72 Darkstar? I’ll take any abuse coming to me for any of that to be true. I’ll make my RIAT return for any of the above. Some more reasonable’ish w...

Re: Shuttleworth Airshows 2025

It will be interesting to see how the change to Saturday air displays for the three 'summer' months goes. For me it means three days off work and I expect I am not the only one, could this also effect volunteer numbers ? Will people stay on for the evening element if its similar to what has already...

Hawks to be replaced by an aerobatic kite team? At least the Italians have a plan,I only wish that that we could say the same for the RAF and MoD in this broken country. How long before RAFAT will be grounded due to equipment failures and/or safety fears.

Re: Diecast re-modelling question

Thanks Gt5500, TBH I hadn't really considered using a paint stripper, I was thinking of a light sanding, followed by a good base coat followed by a finishing coat and new decals.Yes I'm thinking of aircraft rather than cars, however, I would assume the process would not necessarily differ. As a foll...

Diecast re-modelling question

I used to make model kits in my younger days, and I would dearly like to start again, however my mobility is impaired following a stroke, As yet I have no mobility in my left arm. I therefore think that doing any modelling to the standard that I would like to would at best be difficult if not imposs...

Re: How did you become a Aviation Enthusiast?

I too have always been into aircraft. My first introduction to aircraft was through comic books like 'Warlord' and 'Battle' among others.I was brought up on the west coast of Ireland on the transatlantic flight path and I spent many an afternoon straining my eyes trying to identify the planes as they...

Re: New Medium Helicopter - Discuss

Following reports from various sources that both Boeing and Lockheed Martin have withdrawn from the bidding (aka invitation to negotiate-ITN) process, which is not the same as a tender process in advance of the 30 August 2024 deadline. Unfortunately, much of the discussion in this thread appears to ...

Re: All those big lenses: the consequence

I was due to go to the Japanese GP at Suzuka last year (didn't make it - long story!), but in the ticket conditions it stated that in the seated areas then lenses more than a certain length (physical, not focal length) were not allowed. You could use them in the standing areas, but not seats. Must ...

Presumably he also throws all his post away each day without opening it, along with any parcels Royal Mail delivers. just because I choose not to use the Post Office doesn't mean that I won’t accept mail including parcels sent to me, I don't get the connection. Just to clarify for you Mike, Royal M...

I wouldn't use or buy anything from Royal mail after the Post Office scandal and in anticipation of replies, yes I know they are separate companies now. However, they are inextricably linked and they should all hang their heads in shame.

sorry i'm v. late to the story, but I used a sewing needle and a lighter to push bullet/canon damage through the wings and canopy and fuselage, before taping on some lead fishing weights before taking its final flight from my bedroom window sometimes attached to a washing line tied to the window and...

Re: Ireland aviation update 1

the press release only relates to one end of the runway, and there's no mention of banning roadside parking, however my guess is that these things tend to start off in a positive way and often have an ulterior unmentioned motive, or it may even have been a condition of the planning approval, again n...

There was no mention of any charges in the press release however its safe to assume that there will be a charge for electrical vehicle charging, which will also be provided. My feeling that this is both a safety and security initiative to encourage people not to park along the roadside and/or the ai...

Thanks, Stagger2 and Thoughtful_Flyer for your replies, it’s unfortunate that we live in a throw away society and because of that we are reaping the benefits in terms of cost, Environmental impact etc. If there’s one thing that I’ve learned in my life is that we as humans keep on re-inventing the wh...
