Re: Slow, server problems?
Its not just saying those days are gone, its proving it as well Suppose one part of the “proof” is that said user hasn’t posted on this forum for must be seven or eight years now, and hasn’t had any staff/mod privileges for a decade. But I suppose you’re right. I still like this place and the peopl...

Re: Slow, server problems?
I would say that historically we did have a member of staff that was found to be banning people or editting peoples posts that they did not agree with. When this was discovered action was taken to stop that. They have however not been involved with the UKAR Forums for a significant period of time. ...

Re: Slow, server problems?
Unfortunately UKAR has a very bad reputation among the wider aviation community. That’s always a shame to hear. For the purpose of us improving, on what basis is this made? (I think I know, but always worth exploring it openly and honestly). Its always the same, far too many trolls and arguing, pos...

Re: Slow, server problems?
Why don’t we make it a members only forum. Would that not speed things up and keep the bots out ? That's a recipe for a dead forum. You need new people to join and grow the community. Its not far off that now in my opinion. Just looked at the landing page 17 registered users, 4 bots, 111 guests!! I...

Re: Russian airliner forced to land in corn field
Reading some of the threads on PPRune, its hardly surprising its being pulled for parts. All sorts of strange things going on, fake serials, stolen aircraft, black market spares, I dare say its worth more in parts than as a complete airframe.

Re: Hawker Typhoon Preservation Group
They reposted a 2 year old video on their Youtube channel & I asked what had happened to the airframe since the 2 year old video to which they responded "What's happening is an incredibly small team of people are giving up vast amounts of their spare time to try and raise the funds to cont...

Experiment! Use an old bank card and bend it backwards and forwards until it breaks, a similar sized piece of metal will also break. Thus even carbon composits will also break over time, I'm lead to belive F1 cars are a good example, the wings on them can only be used for a certain amount of time be...

Re: Mig-23 crash at Thunder over Michigan
Happy to be corrected but it's my understanding that the pilot (whilst healthy) makes the call re eject rather than the observer? also wonder whether they can confirm from the wreckage that the pilot did not pull his handle? Sure, the seats wont be in the wreckage, and they will recover them from w...

Re: Disband BBMF?
Last I read the Lanc OOS date is 2032, although I cant find reference to it now on the web so perhaps that has changed. One day the original poster will get his/her wish.
I hope that not a single WW2 veteran reads this thread, very disrespectful to their sacrifice and service for our country.

After a quick read of the cpo guidelines, the whole process can take a very long time! What is it with councils going after airfields atm? seems its happening a lot.

The F-22s the USAF want to retire are only used for training anyway, I'm not sure what makes them incapable of combat though. Reading the wiki page about them, I get the impression the F-22 is not as cosmic as the USAF hoped! It seems a lot of its technology was leaked and its been overtaken by the...

[*]The RAF's ground based radar network detect the incoming expected air strike. [*]The RAF respond with Typhoons armed with Meteors to engage at maximum range, with the F-35s held in reserve. The radar is confused by all the wind turbines, the two QRA jets fly with small poles of white hope and th...

I think some of you should be ashamed. Millions gave their lives so you can all write drivel and use freedom of speech without fear of censorship. It really is a wrapped up in cotton wool society we live in now.
