Re: Old Buckenham Airshow - 27th & 28th July 2024
It's utterly absurd, both of my lowepro camera bags are 45-50cm long and they're considered "mid-size" for camera bags! I'm not averse to bag searches but they cause massive queues ala RIAT. If they continue to proceed with this daft size and quantity limitation on bags which isn't even sp...

Re: Old Buckenham 2023
This was my second trip to Old Buckenham and I remain amazed at how small the crowdsize remains. Compared to Duxford or even Shuttleworth, it's quite limited in terms of audience size although I note that the parking field was full. We really lucked out with the weather on Saturday, lots of people c...

From the Shuttleworth facebook page: "We’re really excited to announce that a number of changes are on the way! Below is a breakdown of what is taking place, all of which will come into effect on Monday 27th March. • Our admission entrance will be moving into the visitor centre, with all visito...

Re: Old Entrance Reopening?
It's a very welcome u-turn if true and will open the site back up to local families such as my own who may just want to visit for a coffee and cake whilst taking in the view of the site outside of an airshow date.

Re: Old Buckenham Airshow 2022
I thought that was great! I loved the closeness of it all, everything was in such short easy walk. It all felt very much in the Old Warden mould, intimate and relaxed. It was good to see the runway so close to the fence line and there was a nice mix of acts. Compare and contrast to Duxford where I f...

Re: Old Buckenham Airshow 2022
Bit of an overcast start to the first day with some light rain drops. Looks like quite a decent turnout in terms of crowd support and no issues with driving in at gates open this morning.

Re: 14th May - Evening of Espionage Show
I think the difficulty for people like me who live local is that we're spoilt with both Old Warden and Duxford covering the WWI and WWII eras. Now I'm not saying that's a bad thing per se, it's just that you end seeing a lot of the propeller aircraft which are still on the circuit especially with Du...

Re: Season Opener
Second Se5a and Spitfire MH434 have gone tech.
Weather grey and drab but looks like a decent turnout in visitors.
Slightly breezy so the Edwardians are likely to be off the menu, we're probably going to ending with the avro Anson.

Re: Shuttleworth 2022 dates announced
It'll just end up being one of the fighters doing a couple of quick passes and disappearing off again.
Because that's exactly what a place like Shuttleworth is missing, a Spitfire or Hurricane on show

Hmmm is the Lancaster just going to be a brief flypast then or a candidate for disappearing off the list?

I just want to express my thanks and appreciation to the team for recovering what they could. These things happen unfortunately and it's great that you were able to pull it back to a working level.

Re: Shuttleworth 2021 dates announced
Checking my 2019 records, it was around £25 if prebooked before the day for the military airshow and flying festivals. It was only the flying proms which was £36. I wonder if we're going to see large groups of "pedestrians" being dropped off at the gate? :D I think that the new pricing is ...

Re: Shuttleworth 2021 dates announced
Shuttleworth have responded on the Flying Circus tickets: "Ticket prices are correct, slight error in the description it should read 'the adult ticket will go up to £42 and the SVAS ticket will go up to £38'" Seems to be aiming for a replacement to the proms event with increased pricing ac...

Re: Shuttleworth 2021 dates announced
The prices are wrong on the Flying Circus event, hopefully they'll be corrected soon.
The move to cheaper prices for single visitors like me means I'll be able to attend more shows next year, very much looking forward to it already!

Re: Proposed New Luton Airport arrival routes
It might make things a bit more difficult for the Reds if they revisit as they typically approach Old Warden from the Biggleswade side to perform parts of their displays.
