Re: SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo :: Wednesday

Those evening shots are absolutely wonderful, as is the Dakota. The Epsilon is interesting too.

Lovely aircraft and video. Was it in and out twice with a fly through as well?

Re: New Medium Helicopter - Discuss

Meanwhile it appears that the Bell V280 might start replacing US Army Blackhawks in the near future. That will create lots of surplus machines. Wonder what the maximum life extension could be on a Puma. Gosport was suggested for UK Blackhawk factory.

Well they have "submitted a Type Certificate application to the UK Civil Aviation Authority". A step forwards on a long journey.

Where do you put the ladder, steps, windbreak, let alone the camera, lens, drinks, food. Hopefully sense will prevail here and at other shows, but probably not!

The Tracker was a total surprise. No idea it was even a possibility, so i'm thrilled with that.

Does anyone know if its staying in its firefighting colours, or is there a chance of return to USN glory?
It now has turboprops, so best keep it in the current scheme as linked above.

Re: Science Museum Wroughton

I have not been around Wroughton since the mid 80s when the Connie was trucked in and put together. So many important aircraft hidden there for so long! The "opening" after so many years is positive, but my only question is, will the aircraft actually be available for viewing?

Re: Duxford Diary 2024

Mmmmm... an immersive experience. The confusing part, I am easily confused, is that if the LWH is no good from an environmental point of view, how long will the old hangars last!? Mustn't rush to judgement, the new Lab might be an amazing place. 10 years to see if it comes to fruition.

RWTYT, sometimes referred to as area 51. A rough idea would be warbirds under restoration for private individuals. The Rapides and Tigers spend may be in the southern hangars I believe.

That is a big "oops". At least it went outside (why?). The sensitivity on these things might need adjusting (not knowing the cause of this incident!). Seen several such clips erroneously going off inside the hangar and damaging the aircraft and helicopters.

Re: Marham Query

Orion, Marham is not as active as it used to be. Movements can frequently be found over on FC which caters for such, no need for anything in here, no airshows there. You can stay in the lay by areas off the road and waiting. When you go, be prepared for spells of not a lot happening, but you may be ...
