Fabulous stuff.

Managed to catch it at Ipswich. Certainly brightened my day.

Re: Duxford Shows: 2020

Decent start in a year where I wasn't expecting to see any airshows at all (admittedly, I accept - this show may yet be cancelled).

If the Strikemasters are the only jets I see display this year, so be it - they're a great little pair.

Re: UK air Museum closures -

If they've any sense they'll devolve responsibility on a site by site basis. Especially at such a financially lean time I would have thought they'd open the sites that they safely can as soon as they're allowed.

Re: UK air Museum closures -

Surprised nothing from Duxford yet. I would have thought with all their hardstanding it would be easy enough to do a limited opening.

Re: Drive-in airshows?

All this talk of drive in airshows being new and innovative. I am sure I remember as a child in the 70s and 80s watching the majority of airshows from the car? IAT at Greenham Common? RAF Locking open days? RAF Fairford at home days? RAF St Athan BoB Day? It may be that some of the above weren’t se...

Re: First Show on July 18

Excellent news! How would photography be from the car? Been seriously considering attending for a while and this seems like an excellent opportunity. Cheers JJC You don't stay in your car. Your car is parked in a 5m x 5m area and you can stand there to take photos. Yes I understand that, I was wond...

Re: Battle Of Britain 80: The Night Shoot

Museums need to find some way to recoup their devastating losses over the last few months.

This isn't my sort of thing so I won't be going - but anything that aviation organisations can put on to keep going seems a good idea to me - and if people don't go, they'll drop the price no doubt.

Re: First Show on July 18

Ultimately the capacity is going to be limited by cars, so I think its reasonable to charge per car. If the weather comes out right, i'd say its easily worth £50.00, but that is - of course - just my opinion.

Re: First Show on July 18

Join the SVAS and motorbikes are £25.00! I'm happy with the price to be honest. Its a terrible time for museums and hospitality so I expected to pay a bit more to offset their lost revenue. If the weather's good, its an evening watching and photographing unique aircraft at what is as close to a perf...

Re: First Show on July 18

Really thrilled with this. Got my ticket the second I saw it. I just hope people stick to the rules and stay by their car. Ultimately, its got to be case of good will from the audience, and if it isn't there I doubt this will happen again. Here's hoping for good weather! Such great news. Well done S...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

The care home situation has been one of horrible irony. Keeping people 'at home' is an understandable step to take during a pandemic, but when you're elderly and share your home with dozens of others, some of whom have had positive Covid tests, its just horrendous. Understandably, at the beginning o...

Decent shots of what was a great day. Bentwaters is my local airfield and I was hoping so much this would become a regular event, but for various reasons it wasn't to be.

Andy E needs to get in touch with the Brize Norton paint shop pronto... looks bloody marvellous.

P.S. the 'VIP VC10s' I just mean the old C.1s. They were often used for state visits etc (admittedly, amongst many other things).

It is a little depressing I guess CJS, I must admit I had hoped that this whole period would give people an urge to slow down a little.

I only heard of this guy because of his infamy... it makes you wonder if he produces the anti-Big Jet content to increase views. Social media algorithms often promote angry content more than standard promo after all!

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2020

With no airshows this year i'm hoping to do something like a 'camping tour' of Air Museums when times allow. Newark will be one of the top museums on my list, and i'll be more than happy to pay for advance tickets!
