The 5m x 5m area will be interesting. My car is 4.9m long. Hopefully parked near some shorter cars....
i guess the idea is that you can park up and open your doors so you can stand apart from each other as opposed to in front of or behind the car

If he loses the election, I fully expect him to refuse to leave the White House. i fully expect for there to be a second wave that he takes "very very seriously, more seriously than anybody, in fact, I said there would be a second wave before anybody had even invented the word second, let me tell y...

Re: Culture Wars

Serious question though, (it’s “take a knee” btw, not “bend the knee” the later is GoT) has anyone ever called you a racist for not doing it? I wholeheartedly support BLM, and I’ve not had to take a knee for anything, and even in events where I would have been expected to that I didn’t realise, I w...

I'm in two minds about trying for this one. I wonder if it's going to be worth the hassle.
that's my thought process. even if it does go ahead, which I still don't think it will, what's going to come?

Zoos and Safari Parks to open next Monday. I've sent my question off for the briefing today to suggest that other open air attractions should also be allowed to reopen - in particular some of the industrial museums like Beamish or Ironbridge and aviation collections. Both would provide valuable edu...

Re: Edward Colston statue removal, your views.

Interesting to note that the Milligan statue that was taken down yesterday had been in storage for many many years and erected in Feb 1997 by the London Docklands Development Corporation. So that deals with one of the issues re "attitudes were different back then". What the hell were they thinking ...

Indeed, I bet there are many statues that have disappeared over the years without the furore over the removal of this one.
if this had been removed or amended in the way Bristolians had been campaigning for we wouldn't be having this conversation

I love the ‘where does it stop, do we burn the city to the ground?’ Argument. I think it's a very relevant viewpoint. Should Guy's Hospital be renamed as Thomas Guy made his money from The South Sea Company? Should the Bf-109 in H4 at Duxford have the Swastika erased from it's tail - given how that...

I've discovered that my profession are allowed to avoid the 14 day quarantine, although I think it's still illegal to actually travel to an airport. Holidays in Spain are very expensive in July and there's still no guarantee we won't have to quarantine over there. I have a week in France and anothe...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

It's a policy with more holes in it than a sieve. It's also, in essence, pointless, as almost everybody arriving in the UK will be doing so from countries with far lower infection rates than we currently have. If they do self isolate for 14 days, it's more for their own safety than anyone else's! i...

doesn't bother me that the statue is gone. it should have been taken down years ago, or at the very least a plaque put in place at the site to remind people that whilst he was "apparently" a philanthropist his money was obtained through slavery. the fact the council were slow or unwilling to do eith...
