Re: RIAT 2025

Last update always scares me. Looking forward to see if anything extra is announced but mainly not too many of the 'C' word. There is always unfortunately 'C' but lets hope it is at a minimum! Roll on 12pm! Isn't the Thursday before the show always the last update? AFAIR they add any last min cance...

Re: FRIAT 2025 Renewals

Going back to the e-tickets I booked 3 FRIAT tickets and notice that the 3 e-tickets have the same Booking ID though different named people, bar codes and look like different dot matrix codes. I am assuming all is well typically its under the booking ID of the lead person, ie the person that booked...

Re: Festival of Flight 2025 - 28/29th June

As others have said, I'm not a huge fan of the proposed gap between the afternoon and evening shows, which I expect part of which is to allow aircraft visitors to leave during that gap. Maybe a suggestion would be to open the gates later and start the afternoon show at 3pm or later? the gap in the ...

Re: RIAT 2025

My worry at the minute is what the Friday show entails. Quite a few stand out flying items have ❌ on the site. the friday show is quite often light on stand out displays. i actually prefer the Friday show to be quieter because it means you can spend more time enjoying the other elements of the show

Re: FRIAT 2025 Renewals

Using your phone’s “wallet” feature should sort that out as it’s not signal dependent? (For tickets at least) I quite like it, tbf. I much prefer using my Apple Wallet rather than paper tickets. i do normally, but twice this year i've tried to use it at shows and not had a signal so have had to rev...

Re: RIAT 2025

What do they gain from doing it exactly? some of them do it just to be prats, some do it to try and look cool amongst other aviation types. they'll throw out a rumour of a movement, cancellation etc with no sources behind it, and if their rumour is nonsense they'll claim "changes to operationa...

Re: RIAT 2025

I have only just noticed this and have seen no rumours of a cancellation anywhere. Definitely surprised me when I saw the post. Good of them to put it to bed straight away though. Roll on July! i've been privvy to a chats where the same people have been going around saying things like "i belie...

Re: RIAT 2025

Must admit, I have remained largely positive up until this point, but everything just feels a bit ‘flat’ this year - there just doesn’t seem to be that ‘buzz’ about the show that only usually grows in the month leading up to it. my feeling is that the buzz isn't there because so many people trying ...

Re: RIAT 2025

It is frustrating that the surprise item hasn’t even been added to the FRIAT Members area, this would be another added bonus for FRIAT Members to be given this potential item heads-up! Yes i had a look last night too and to be honest the FRIAT members area is a complete waste of time, No new inform...

Re: FRIAT 2025 Renewals

I just had a look at the tickets avaible at this time for the FRIAT stand. And I must say they still have a lot, I mean a lot of places still avaible at this time. I do not think that FRIAT will be sold out this year. I think the price and the changes in location have a lot to do with this. Just my...

Re: RIAT 2025

Last year some really helpful people were publishing a link or the details of what was arriving the next day. From memory (not my best feature !) the info came out in the evening. That was incredibly helpful as it allowed me to plan the day ahead. Does anyone else remember this and where did they g...

Re: Military Air Show - 31st May

I did enjoy the new format. my only critique being that at the beginning it felt a bit slow and that it felt like there were some gaps in the middle. I wasn't entirely sure at first if the SE5a and Spitfire slot was a mishap between the tower and Spit, but once it became clear it was intended it was...

Re: RIAT 2025

The Kiwi 757 and Qatari AH-64 are utterly splendid. I personally wonder if RIAT is a victim of its own success. If any other European (or perhaps even global, outside their home countries) confirmed those items, people would be clamouring for them at RIAT. Yet when RIAT do confirm them, it’s a bit ...

Re: RIAT 2025

Hoping for a big announcement today, like we've been saying that got blown wayyyyyy out of proportion ... so far good but I just feel it is missing that extra little bit. Let's see what 12pm brings us people will cry that there is not enough jets, too many helicopters and that this is the weakest R...

Re: What makes RIAT… RIAT?

For me, its more than the flying, for me its the one week where i can completely separate myself from the rest of the world. i get to be a plane geek, all week with everyone else understanding it and being along for the ride. I get to spend time with friends, some of which i only see a couple of tim...

Re: RIAT 2025

I don’t think it’s quite as bad as everyone is making out Well that's putting it mildly. I am as usual looking forward to the show. That said, as a one-day-a-year person unlike the FRIATers, I occasionally get a bit of a private grump on about airborne photos of brilliant aircraft I only ever see s...

Re: RIAT 2025

It seems that you're also not allowed to have a preference when it comes to jets as whenever someone mentions it they get told to stop being ungrateful and so on... not everyone can afford luxuries such as RIAT tickets without second thought. there's a difference between "i prefer jets, and ca...

I don’t think it is a “helifest” to be fair, but as I said in response to the moans a week or two ago, it’s the quality of the helicopters on offer that’s being overlooked:
i don't think it matters if its a helifest or not. helicopters are just as important as front line fighter jets imo

Re: RIAT 2025

There's still time to go, but can anyone honestly say that this year is looking as good as last? I accept that RIAT is going to have some years that are not as good as others and, for me, this year is looking like a bit of a dip. That's not a criticism of the team, as it's really in the hands of th...

Re: Duxford Summer Airshow - 21st & 22nd June

Many thanks for the reply, sounds like a good plan to get there as the car parks open to avoid the worst of the queues, luckily it’s only a 30min drive for me. I think my 7 & 11 year olds would much prefer to be there early to maximise time looking around (the 13 year old might moan). Is that p...

Quite early to ask about this, but it's my first RIAT and it's hard to find information about when the show exactly starts. What's a good time to arrive for Saturday/Sunday if we want to get into the showgrounds before the flying display starts? I know the show usually starts with some of the big h...
