Not surprised, but sad.

Thanks for the hard work Phil, looking forward to the rescheduled event.

Re: RIAT 2019

The weather put a real downer on today, so little flying....massive appreciation to the A400M crew for getting out there and the Harrier crew too....I only wish some of those who scrubbed had been able to take off and just do a few passes down the runway....surely it would have been within regs!! T...

Re: RIAT 2019

Rubbish day weather wise, but there was a Harrier.... ... and a Tiffy doing a performance take-off (ears are still ringing!) First time I have driven to a show day, I normally do train to Swindon then shuttle bus. Last year (Friday) was a fiasco on the buses I was on. This year - straight in, no del...

Re: RIAT 2019 weather watch.

No 'wrong' weather, just wrong clothing and camera protection! I'm going Friday, taking sun protection and rain protection! Something will fly, and rain probability is a max of 80% at 12:00, 60% before that, and 50-40% after. (from Met Office, seconds a go). I go for statics as well, so there will b...

Re: RIAT 2019

If anyone doesn't like the aircraft on show, the answer is simple....

DON'T GO!

(and leave more room for the ones who like what is shown whatever it is!)

Re: How will you be enjoying the show?

Driving from Reading on Friday, wander around the 'pit' area, statics, watch arrivals, practice, show - off home 4-ish. Driving on Monday to P&V East, early start to get my lungs full of kerosene fumes! (mixed with smells from the burger van - yum!!!), leave about 4-4:30. Preparation started alr...

Just a few here: -https://flic.kr/s/aHsmunuFFT

Some processing needed (particularly level - must get a new tripod that has legs that stay put!)

Quite pleased, seemed to get better during the evening!

Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XXV Thursday 18th October 2018

My first night shoot, really enjoyed it.

Organisation was excellent, and everyone cooperated - not getting in the way of 30sec exposures!

Pics to appear when I get time to process (I had 1.5 hrs at Heathrow on the way to Northolt, so I've got a lot to go through!)

Re: Travelodge LHR Central

Some years ago we used the Ariel hotel on Bath Road for accommodation for courses at work. Always asked for (and got!) a top floor room facing the airport. This was when they had the old 'third runway' at Heathrow... (23 for crosswind landings?) and the planes were almost going past the room windows...

Really looking forward to my first night shoot! Be gentle with me!

(Hoping to spend the afternoon at Myrtle Avenue capturing the commercial beasts!)

Re: Furzey Hill Park and View Open Again

Commutable for me too.
Doing car Wednesday and Monday, letting the train take the strain on Friday (when I will take a nice tour of the statics, and watch the airshow with my eyes, not through the viewfinder!)

Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XXIVa Thursday 19th April 2018

New to this forum, interested to know how I can get to attend a night shoot??

I live in easy reach, go to RIAT and have an interest in anything that flies - my father was a navigator on Mosquitos in WW2 (151 and 29 Squadrons)
