Re: FIA 2022

It's a Farnborough trade show so it'll be the standard fare, Airbuses and Boeing's with a smattering of current military bits that are for sale and a few bizjets! 😄 But always nice to see the bigger stuff being thrown about and makes a change from the regular airshows. I am sure Embraer will be the...

Re: MAKS 2021

Still a bit far in time to make date predictions. Dates can be announced and then be changed again.

I will certainly be there, alive or half dead.

Planning to go on ALL MAKS days for 2021 air show!

Re: MAKS 2019

I will be heading out to Moscow in a couple of hours via Warsaw. MAKS will be a mix of Industry, river barge viewing in a seemingly good spot and public days. Planning on some outings in the city. Moscow has got some awesome hotels with amazing top floor terrace bars where one can enjoy a drink and ...

Re: MAKS 2019

As on every train station - there are ticket counters Just one thing - there are 2 kinds of trains - regular and Sputnik (faster one) . Difference in price is small, so worth considering. They are leaving from separate part of the station. Spasiba. How much faster is the "faster" train? I...

As far as I can see you get a suburban train from Kazansky rail station (the Hilton Leningradskyaya where I am staying before MAKS is close by) to Otdyh station where there will be a shuttle bus (seems about 37mins) . Two stops on is 42km station where there are also a shuttle bus. Now... when we g...

Re: MAKS 2019

I forgot a question. Have any of you purchased your air show tickets online through the Parter website? If so what exchange rate did you get for your debit card purchases? Not trying to evaluate your wealth and how much you are able to spend on your trip. My question is strictly on the exchange rate...

Re: MAKS 2019

Sultan of Wings From my experience in 2017 you are not really close to the aircraft near the river. Close enough but not so close that you could get away with 70mm an under. Just an example.. I shot this with a Sigma 50-500mm EXIF shows I shot it at 360mm and this is also a small crop. In reallity ...

Re: MAKS 2019

A question for MAKS regulars. For those who will be at the riverside point off the air show grounds or on a MAKS boat cruise, which lens focal do you recommend from your own experience being so close to the planes or right under them? 55mm, 70mm or higher? I will have Nikon 28-55 and Nikon 70-300 VR...

From the tickets website it seems each Trade day ticket purchase also gives access to a public day included in the ticket price. ?? Does it say that? Well yes. I am surprised you did not see it. Re: Piper Operation Cobra

The event drew no less than a crowd of 150,000 scattered on 5 kilometers of beaches. Most came to see the Airbus A380 original prototype F-WWOW flying formation with Patrouille de France, followed by an impressive 8 minutes solo flying display. Airbus Chief test Pilot Christophe Cail was in command ...

Re: Piper Operation Cobra

This is the full program (in French) with pictures and descriptions.

There will be lots, aerial and ground.

They really worked hard putting this event together.

The aerial shows will extend some kilometers along the beaches.

Not a boring minute!

Re: International Sanicole Airshow, 13 & 15 September 2019

You could check Izy from Paris. It's cheaper than Thalys but also slower as it uses stretches of regular railroads rather than the high-speed track. I had checked IZY they also gave me Thalys from Paris to Brussels at impossible hours, latest night trains at Gare du Nord. It's too unsafe. I would n...

Re: International Sanicole Airshow, 13 & 15 September 2019

Why take the Thalys to Antwerp and not a regular intercity from Brussels? (assuming you are taking the Eurostar to Brussels and then switching to Thalys from there). A regular intercity is only marginally slower but it makes a healthy price difference. From Brussels there are faster options to Leop...
