Re: Kent Battle of Britain Museum and Memorial
Both of which probably apply to a lot of other museums that don't impose similar restrictions, it's their museum and they're free to do what they want but I've spoken to plenty of people that won't go there just because they feel it makes for an unwelcoming experience (maybe that's their loss, but t...

These are great photos, I really can't wait to see the Frecce in the T-346, it's going to look superb.

I've never been able to get my head around their approach, does any other museum have such a rule in place?

Shame really, would have been an excellent flight experience aircraft.NAM Updater wrote: ↑Thu 24 Oct 2024, 11:53 amThank you - post-Shoreham I'm not sure that the original disposal policy for the type was aimed at seeing airframes onto the UK civilian market.

Re: Bradgate Park...27.10.24
There's a big field before the deer barn that normally has a lot of dear just sat in the open but if you want more natural shots there's often quite a few in the bracken before the ruins to the left of the main path/road. There's also often a peacock around the ruins.

Great selection, I've family in Leicester (was actually born there myself) and we have been visiting Bradgate park every time we visit for over 40 years, it's an amazing place.

Re: RIAT 2025
Having never done an overseas airshow, for those that have done, have the costs for overseas airshow trips not gone up as well? I'm just curious because people keep saying RIAT is now too expensive but I can't help but think other shows must have put prices up and travel and accommodation surely is ...

Except it's not a new enclosure and it isn't where FRIAT used to be, it's the old Wingtip enclosure with a different name and as far as I'm aware it's where it always has been.

Incredible shot, no idea how you photograph those things, they're hard enough just to see let alone get a camera focused on one.

Good catch, they were stunning even down here on the north Kent coast, first time I could clearly see them with the naked eye.

Re: super early birds and subsequent price rises.
Not that many comparable events have viable (legal) alternatives though, do they? Sports fixtures, gigs for example. You might be able to buy tickets from more than one source (although often you can't) but cheaper than direct from the venue? Good luck with that! Sorry, not sure if this was a respo...

Re: super early birds and subsequent price rises.
it's not like you can go to a cheaper alternative like with car insurance or supermarkets is it? Camp sites, outside the fence, naughty fields. You might be further away from the action, but hey, it is a lot cheaper. Aside from the fact that if everyone did that there'd be nothing to watch from sai...

Re: super early birds and subsequent price rises.
On Facebook everyone was moaning about the increase in price for the British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone and then when tickets went on sale some of the grandstands were sold out with about 48 hrs. With respect people are entitled to moan about the price, but if they really want to go what choice d...

Re: FRIAT 2025 Renewals
For the record (already been raised) the viewing village grandstand does not get the whole area infront to itself, the viewing village garden is a separate entity requiring it's own admission ticket i.e. it is not open to grandstand users (unless they buy two tickets).

Re: Battle of Britain Air Show 14-15th September 2024
Would anyone have any advice as to where best to place yourself at Duxford photography wise? I notice the flying starts fairly late, do you still need to show up at gates opening to get a hope of getting near the line? Have only been once before for the Summer Airshow in 2022 and ended up fairly po...

Re: Diecast re-modelling question
I did once repaint a Diecast car model into a different colour. I removed the body from the chassis and just used normal paint stripper to remove the paint, then used an airbrush to respray it. Sorry, probably not much help if your talking aircraft models.

Re: RIAT 2025
I've never done FRIAT so have never had a sheet of lies but I do always try and find either here or elsewhere someone that has posted the movements and then I screenshot it and refer to that all day. So for me live online movements is a winner as opposed to a printed sheet that is probably wrong. Su...

I thought it was excellent, loved how chilled the JP pilot Steve Hunt was throughout, but especially during that rather wobbly first approach. The DIY jet engine was great too, I've seen it done a few times before but not with reheat.
