XX741 at Bentwaters - check out the Britmodeller Rumourmonger thread for details.

The new one is 1/48 and they have also rereleased the 1970s 1/72 kit.
Cool cheers, just wondered if it was a local (to me) that's all.

Was it the one just down the road from them at Manston?

Re: South Korea B737 crash

I'm always gobsmacked at how basic flight recorders are, sometimes it feels like the average dash cam provides more information post accident than a flight recorder. I've seen a few episodes of air crash investigation where the engine manufacturer's telemetry has provided more information than the i...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2025 Wishlist:

I must admit I do occasionally get caught out and think it's an AN12 and it turns out to be an A400m which is also ridiculously loud. It's odd because they usually have quite a high pitched screaming sound but sometimes they seem to drone over, I guess speed or weather dependent.

Just one (two) more from me.

An Antonov An-12 or Shaanxi Y-8 from the Kazakh Air Force.

The droning sound coming into Fairford would be something to cherish, not to mention the rarity of these aircraft.
Funnily enough a Kavok AN12 just came droning over Kent 😁

Both of which probably apply to a lot of other museums that don't impose similar restrictions, it's their museum and they're free to do what they want but I've spoken to plenty of people that won't go there just because they feel it makes for an unwelcoming experience (maybe that's their loss, but t...

Thank you - post-Shoreham I'm not sure that the original disposal policy for the type was aimed at seeing airframes onto the UK civilian market.
Shame really, would have been an excellent flight experience aircraft.

There's a big field before the deer barn that normally has a lot of dear just sat in the open but if you want more natural shots there's often quite a few in the bracken before the ruins to the left of the main path/road. There's also often a peacock around the ruins.

Not that many comparable events have viable (legal) alternatives though, do they? Sports fixtures, gigs for example. You might be able to buy tickets from more than one source (although often you can't) but cheaper than direct from the venue? Good luck with that! Sorry, not sure if this was a respo...

it's not like you can go to a cheaper alternative like with car insurance or supermarkets is it? Camp sites, outside the fence, naughty fields. You might be further away from the action, but hey, it is a lot cheaper. Aside from the fact that if everyone did that there'd be nothing to watch from sai...
