I am just about to try Vallejo Model Air paints of which I have high hopes. Their range of paints is vast and at first I found it utterly confusing. I have also seen the Mr Color range highly recommended. Take your pick.

That is really splendid. Well done. What struck me as odd though is how the national insignia differs from what one is more used to later in the war. I am sure you are right but the red spot on the fuselage roundel looks tiny and the upper wing roundels seem too small.
