Thank you. I was taken aback when you said 25 years, I'm sure the 90's were only about 15 years ago! :-)

It requires 4 engines and must be built on an airframe designed and built in the US. Rather limits the scope of the project.

Thank you for your kind comments, everyone. I can still remember feeling the heat from Concorde's afterburners as it went around! I could be wrong but I think the Air Inter a/c is an A300, the Mercure is more like a 737 size. However there was a demo by one at LFA on another occasion, I intend to ke...

Flying Legends 23

I guess everyone was at Fairford this weekend, so I thought I'd post a few of my photos from the wet and windy Saturday at Church Fenton. The flying was excellent, the Old Warden style curved crowdline giving a lot more topside views than the Duxford shows. I hope it was successful enough to become ...

Just got home, starting to dry out! Agree with the above comments re the flying, I missed out on the flightline walk when it was closed early because of the lightning (not the P-38) but thought for a first attempt the organisers had worked hard. Enjoyed the commentary team and hats off to the pilots...

Re: Most legacy UK aviation manufacturers have their own Museum - why not Handley Page?

Surviving HP aircraft are quite rare, I believe. I can only think of 9 types, most of which are sole survivors or at least few in number- Herald Jetstream Victor Halifax Hampden HP 115 Hermes fuselage Hastings Gugnunc. The majority are pretty large so you'd need a lot of space, although Duxford coul...
