Re: Another Wattisham round up.
Hi again, Dan, they're catching up on the training they lost as they shut down for most, if not all of April due to the virus. That plus they've had more freedom as to where to work recently has seem them go a few places you wouldn't normally, especially down South. I've seen and heard some of the c...

Very nice, especially the CV-22s. Haven't been down Portland way for years but looks like you can get close.

Re: Another Wattisham round up.
Gents, A bit of fun last night with Hunter section as they RTB'd from a sortie that was flown just a few miles North of Wattisham over Rattlesden gliding airfield. The angles and geography of Wattisham are not really good for this kind of photography, unlike somewhere like Coningsby. https://i.ibb.c...

Re: Another Wattisham round up.
Hi Dan, 3 Regiment flew a AM and PM four ship on Thursday, the second flight departing not long before I arrived, returning late evening. I queried it with somebody who would know, and it was just a routine sortie, although going South was slightly unusual. Focal length will depend where you go. Sho...

Another Wattisham round up.
Gents, It's been a long time since I posted anything from Wattisham, but I thought I would follow up Tim's recent post with a selection as well. The AAC have been catching up since they restarted operations after the virus stand down. That's meant increased activity from an airfield that's isn't exa...

Re: Rougham Airshows & Events
Gents, Here's a few from me. Being only a few miles away from Rougham I attended most of the shows there before they stopped. There was some great moments, ranging from being stuck in the mud and having your car towed out of the field by a Land Rover to watching Alister Kay putting MH434 through it'...

A few Wattisham from last summer.
Gents, Not having posted much in the last few years I though I'd take a quiet Saturday Morning and look through a few from last year at Wattisham, my local airfield. As I've frequently said, it's not the easiest place to photograph and the only decent recommendation I can offer is to try summer even...

Gents, If okay I will post across what I posted on FC earlier today; Can I ask that anybody who was on the loop today who took pics and is prepared to have images passed on to the pilot of the C-17 to please contact me, PM or email below. The pilot from the 701st AS is a friend of mine and this has ...

Re: May Airshow
Gents, I am curious as to what the attendance was yesterday. My own personal opinion from somebody who normally attends at least one Duxford show a year - with 2016 being the first year I didn't go - was whilst I would say it was busy, it wasn't what I would call Duxford busy, certainly not near wha...

Re: RAF Lakenheath - 28th & 29th December
Liking these very much Dan, especially the 3/4 head on shots, I'd say you pretty much have nailed them! I always wonder why any F-15 shot I see from Lakenheath they are always armed in one way or another - are they actually armed or are they dummy missiles and what not? Cheers, thank for sharing th...

Re: RAF Lakenheath - 28th & 29th December
Nice Dan, looks like we were pretty much working the same area during the afternoon. Getting a decent exposure off the underside of those things without overexposing the sky is pretty difficult and these have come up a treat. I feel a bit guilty rolling up at 10:30 just as the action was starting! G...

Gents,
There may be a few more visitors unimpressed. Local paper here in Suffolk, The EADT has just told it's readers this morning that the reds are there Saturday only.

Re: Goose Loose
Very nice. I was in the field at the Nook camp site when 'Goose 51' came back. It looked like he was going to catch the cloud so was surprised we caught him okay. Screwed up with the C-130 that followed as I forgot those damn things can stop quick enough to turn off at the intersection. I went down ...

Re: RAF Lakenheath 29th December
Hi Dan, I thought that you'd be there as well. I'm glad you put a pic up of the approach of 84-0027 and the unusual sheen the darker grey shows, especially on the fin. I thought it might have been just my pics but yours is identical. It's unusual as the other 493rd jets on the day didn't do that, in...

Re: Wattisham 6/12
Thanks... Do you know if there is much flying from Wattisham over weekends normally? Or are they pretty much shut down? Dan I'll have a listen out on ATC Sunday morning. If Wattisham switch on then that's a dead give away that there's an An-124 movement due as they don't normally switch on otherwis...

Thanks gents. I agree completely about the weather. During the two weeks I made four trips up for five days over the exercise and that is just about every sunny image I took. Ironic that the best weather was on the morning they departed!

Coningsby during July.
Gents, Here's a selection from my trips up to Coningsby in July during the Indian det, I do realise it's a little late but forgot I hadn't posted anything. Arriving on the 17th. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b264/garysted/IMG_0864.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b264/garysted/IMG_0975.jpg ...
