Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

I looked at the Wingtip enclosure from outside and my first thought was 'what is the point?'

I thought Sunday was the best airshow weather in years. Simpsons clouds!

I've got my fingers crossed that when the Hellenic F-4's arrive tomorrow, they beat up the airfield a bit!

I'd be chuffed with two afterburning touch and go's even.
You definitely had your dreams come true!!!
I did indeed 🙏

I like these because they're genuine. Some photos look like they were created on Ai!

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

Although the static was great, I really don't like the static line up at the start of red. Surrounded by clutter everywhere and the similar aircraft were parked there as last year!

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

I was always under the assumption that the driven in Dutch F16 was going to wear the 16's prototype scheme.

RIAT 25, Mali edition.
Odd choice but heyho!
Was just messing as it's one of the hottest countries in the world. I get your viewpoint behind your post though. Nothing more frustrating than an ace line up and then the heavens open.

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

Anybody see the American lady? In East today trying to get a spot on the barrier arrived late looked like she was close to tears trying to get in between people and getting told no when she asked if she could jump in. That’s rough. But she’s only to blame for not getting there earlier like the peop...

Re: RIAT 2025

My only real hope coming off 2024 is that they stagger the display teams. While each are great in their own way, that block between 12pm-2pm dragged more than a little. It was perfect. Watched the display from 10-12, 12-2 I wondered round the statics & bought some tat, sat back down at around 2...

RIAT 24: Thoughts & Feedback

Pro's: • Well thought out static (aside from the Firecat & F4U Corsair). • Top 5: 1-Patrouille Suisse 2-Italian Typhoon 3-Czech Gripen 4-F-15QA, 5-M-346. • B-52 crew allowing you to wonder underneath the aircraft. • Some brilliant tat on offer this year (I managed to get myself a 50th F-16 anniv...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

Hahah that's what that moron gets for asking the Moroccans to specifically do a topside at the FRIAT stand. Bit of a weird comment in my opinion, one who makes a comment to the crew etc should not have it reflect on others Indeed, but the comment to the crew stunk of entitlement and found it amusin...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

Who was it yesterday who switched between full an flat/rolling display depending on which end of the runway he was at? I don't know if I've ever seen it done like that before. I know display acts switch between the different height displays mid display sometimes, but not seen the change from West t...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

Btw, what's with the crap programme cover this year? It's gone back to the dreadful 2012/2013/2015 attempts.

How hard is it to get some real artwork like 2007/early 90's.

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

I’m just nitpicking now, but did anyone else think the platform for the F16’s was at the wrong end/the F16’s would’ve looked better had they been facing the platform? No, I didn’t think that. The other end would have been against the light for much of the day at at an awkward angle, would have been...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

Did the Canadians have any merchandise I never found any stalls? My partner (who’s Canadian) ended up talking to the public affairs officer for the Hornet demo team because we were both looking for patches/coins to send her dad who used to fly in the Canadian Air Force and she said none this year!

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

Award winners have been announced https://www.airtattoo.com/news/royal-international-air-tattoo-award-winners-revealed-1/ A shame the Slovenian PC-9 pilot came away empty handed. One of the best displays of aerial artistry I’ve seen for a long time. 🇸🇮 Better than the Swedish SK-60 last year?
