Re: RIAT 2025
Those Mirages are a hell of a catch. One thing is bugging me though... Why don't they take the Portuguese P-3 off the list? I can't see any sense in leaving cancelled items on the website. Seems to be a slightly altered way of displaying cancels this year. Rather than moving them to a section at th...

Re: RIAT 2025
Everyone's entitled to their opinion I suppose, but to come on an aviation forum & describe a pair of Spitfires as a "toilet break" discredits the one who said it in my opinion. Brilliant work from the Air Operations Team to get those Hellenic AF M2000s over. Especially looking forward...

Re: RIAT 2025
Have the Portuguese always been this 'reliable' with turning up? They seem to announce something most years but rarely appear with everything. Pretty sure last year they cancelled both Vipers and C-390 but then they still appeared with the C-390. Nothing to do with the organisers, must be frustrati...

Re: RIAT 2025
Having a look through (I always forget to make a note of this) ... any new additions to ongoing or declined? I can't tell this week if anything has changed. Also is it rare to get this many US branches ongoing this early? I know they announce the US participation later in the year but I can't remem...

Re: Sanicole 2025
With the theme of the show being 50 years I believe from the end of the Vietnam war, they have managed to pull of flying Phantoms ... could a Top Aces Skyhawk be persuaded to be on static or better yet ... a few flypasts Potential to be a great show. Very tempted to do my first Sanicole this year! ...

Re: FRIAT 2025 Renewals
Well, whilst bored I checked the availability of FRIAT tickets, there were 2 seats in row A! The other seats are about 70% full (my quick guess!). There is 3 months until the show kicks off, I didnt look at last years FRIAT availablity at this time, but I can not imagine it was this undersold. My t...

Re: RIAT 2025
Glad to see the RDAF F-16 demo returning for one last time. That display jet has one of the best display schemes I've seen on a Viper, alongside the 'Orange Lion' from a good few years ago now.... They've ended up bringing 3 jets to the last 2 events, of one type or another, due to serviceability is...

Re: RIAT 2025
Yeah that's fine, most people would agree. But I am just asking if additionally to the Swedish update (Black Hawks), is there the potential to get a further Swedish update. So not replacing, just in addition for example a Gripen flying and Gripen E static etc etc. Same as Hungary & Germany, ext...

Would I be right in saying that this will be the 1st time a German Herc is to appear at RIAT? Cannot remember one being in attendance for support and I'm sure none have appeared over the show weekend? Yes. It does literally say it in the update, that you yourself posted on the previous page.... &qu...

Not asking if anyone knows? It’s called speculation. Hence why I said “do you think”. Are any of the Spanish tiffie sqns NTM members Ala 14 (who attended RIAT 2016 with 3 'Typhoons') are a NATO Tiger Association member... https://flic.kr/p/2nn9av9 They brought the low-vis special tail above that ye...

Re: RIAT 2025
What will make the most difference to how a flying display programme is perceived (for me at least....) is the weather it takes place in. You could have the most exciting, loudest, rarest, most colourful items in the world in the line-up....if it's grey & dismal conditions it would still be naff...

Re: Interesting Internet
Hopefully they return to the UK this season, I'm sure they will for at least one event. Not all doom and gloom, there are 3 new F-16 operators in Europe with Romania, Slovakia & Bulgaria soon so maybe 1 or all of them might start up a demo eventually. They all used to demo their Soviet era jets...

They'll be great there.
However, if they want a "lying display" they ought to just book Boris Johnson...... (probably his fees are too high I'd imagine.)

Lovely stuff. Has it really been 9 years since the Spanish Typhoon rocked up? Always thought of it as a regular! No complaints at all, shaping up nicely. Yep, 2016 it's last appearance & before that I think 2006....so it's pretty rare to see the Spanish 'Tifon' getting out & about.

Re: RIAT 2025
A really nice bunch of aircraft from the Czech Air Force there. Loved the W-3 Sokol in 2022 & to see a SAR scheme would be great this year. Particularly pleased with the LET410, proper rarity with the glass nose. It's shaping up well in these early stages with what the Portuguese have confirmed ...

6 Days @ Air Tattoo 2024
Late-ish post about this event, that I attended on the FRIAT package for my 2nd year. Basically have had a rough time personally pretty much since the day I got back from departures, hence the delay in getting around to editing all my photos. Have mixed the days together so it's not one type of pict...

Re: RIAT 2025
The price jumps above are interesting when looked at in conjunction with when the other UK military events stopped. Waddington last show was 2014 right? Yeovilton last show 2019.... RIAT/DBH know they're the only event in town, so can effectively charge what they like & the military aviation ent...

Re: super early birds and subsequent price rises.
There are so many decisions being made across the board since COVID that are really putting the organisation into a bad light and it's sad to see/feel this way Absolutely. Been saying it a while, it's all deeply cynical from an organisation that didn't used to be this way....something has obviously...

Re: FRIAT 2025 Renewals
I was considering doing FRIAT next year for the first time since 2018 and I just cant justify it. I remember you all saying when the Admission hit £200 (as it was in 2018 or around then) you would all stop doing it. Now 6 years later and its now £350? and they move the stand, stick a public area in...

Re: RIAT 2025
I never seem to be able to get a reliable signal at RIAT, even on arrivals days. I’m sure I’m not alone in that Yeah, it starts off usable on the Wednesday morning & by Friday is pretty much unusable. The busier the airfield gets, the worse it is. Weekend there's no point even trying to access ...
