Re: Cosford Airshow 2024 - 9th June 2024

I enjoyed the day, never attended an airshow in winter before!!. No problem getting into the airfield usual wait to get out but was in no rush. Enjoyed the displays and the team did a good job to get 5 hours or so of flying in. I must be getting old (56) as one of my highlights was seeing the next g...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2024 - 9th June 2024

I would If I had a way to even get up there! Multiple mishaps and miscommunications lead to me and my mother not being able to get tickets so this would be the dream. Semi-related note, does anyone know if someone is streaming Cosford this year since PlanesTV doesn't seem to be??? Because I'd still...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2024 - 9th June 2024

There may be some space for a couple of late inclusions.
Losing the Rafale.BBMF and Vampire that were all flying and replacing them with 3 aircraft of which the Jet Provost is the only one doing a full display will probably leave a couple of gaps for late additions.

Re: Cosford Airshow 2024 - 9th June 2024

Well then folks predictions for the very final Friday announcement this year? Going to optimistically hope Cosford pull a blinder and announce #takefivefriday consisting of the not-yet-announced Texan (or other), flypast from A400m after the falcons jump out of it, B25, B52 flypast, and the 727 tan...

I always thought Équipe de voltige was a 2 ship. Am I wrong or did they used to be?
They fly as a solo or as a pair, I've no idea what you're getting at Cosford.
It will be a solo display as per take Friday announcement.
Take flight Friday!!.

Re: Cosford Airshow 2024 - 9th June 2024

Just listened to the podcast and he seems like a top chap to be honest. Hopefully some of the items he said he couldn’t mention in case they fell through could turn out to be a jet replacement for the Rafale - I’ve got to admit I’d love a Gripen or an F16 from the Danish airshow. When the question ...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2024 - 9th June 2024

I think its fair to compare Cosford to Midlands Air Festival. Midlands suffered cancellations the day before the show and not only were they relayed quickly via their comms channels, replacements were sourced almost immediately. Unfortunately Cosford is consistently awful at communicating with thei...

Bit of a ride catching up on today's posts! Might not all be over... Before today the falcons were only act left that had self confirmed but which cosford hasn't yet announced officially so they were always going to be announced. That leaves one more take flight Friday. A last minute big addition p...

Don't forget they were two eagle's listed. It could be a double announcement.

Re: Cosford Airshow 2024 - 9th June 2024

Logic might suggest it’s the Falcons now that people have mentioned it as they traditionally open the show (which the post hints at). Seems a bit dumb to use an eagle emoji for that though, but there we go. I thought the Falcons were already announced, so it didn’t even cross my mind! As far as I'm...

Re: CAA swept wing restrictions

As someone who regularly walks the dog in the woods at Oulton Park the Gnat accident was a shock to the system. The aircraft came down just a few yards from the road and the many well trodden paths that surround it. The only difference between this accident and the one at Shoreham a few weeks later ...
