Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator Returns

Do you need a constant internet connection while running it? Although I'll need to upgrade my (W7) rig to something that can handle it before too long, my max d/l speed is about 410kbps so apart from the week to download the thing in the first place, can you download what you want and run it standal...

Skye wildlife from last week in changeable weather

A very much needed break on Skye for a week or so brought a very changeable weather pattern and some very memorable experiences with the wildlife, the best probably when the camera was miles away in the car (as always). Below, some of the better results of those that allowed close approach and those...

Re: Autumn Rarities 2018

Ooof, the Catbird is a corking image, I'm afraid that life and work got in the way of it completely and having 'done' Cornwall only a couple of weeks previous for work which coincided with the 2 decent days seawatching down there I was out of ideas as to how to get down there in work time The Yellow...

Re: Ukmil what's going on?

Everything is still active on there. After a couple of hacks, Gaffer made it a domain email only registration to stop them hiding behind free email accounts and I think after the most recent hack we all had to reapply or reactivate our membership so this may be the problem. As it seems with all of u...

Pretty sure you just need to decide what button you want for what then map it (the FS9 keyboard command for that action) to the joystick button you want.

Re: Selection of rare and scarce Tit pics!

As for Latin names, I thought the Blue Tit is now a Cyanistes rather than a Parus?? Thanks Geoff, I'm a bit old skool when it comes to names and order and Parus was what I could remember although had to look up Marsh as couldn't remember the 2nd half! Still confused that Divers etc are not at the s...

Flightstore Black Friday sale - £1 for most Playsims/UK2000

Probably already complete for most of you but at £1 each for the DVD sets it's a very cheap way of getting backups.

Sadly not all UK2000 titles are on there but a few of the VFR airfields etc.

Mytee is being used by B-52s which departed the USA in the early hours and are reportedly heading to the ranges in the Netherlands (same place as the B1 apparently according to posts on Twitter). Credit to AN521 on Twitter "MYTEE51 (#USAF B-52's) now heading for the D4 area, otherwise known as ...

Cracking selection from the Northern Isles there John. Saw video of the Parrotbills on the pavement in Lerwick taken on a phone out of a car window - confiding or what! Rustic Bunt is now quite a vagrant compared with a few years ago, only seen a couple and the best of those was on Scilly in the lat...

Re: Birds and beasts from Cornwall

Very nice, particularly the confiding Buff-breasties, how many were there? Thanks Paul. Until I found No.2 moments before the pic of 2 was taken there was only 1... but I think the count got up to 3 in the past week which could have been a fresh one but did coincide with the Sennen bird leaving. Da...

Birds and beasts from Cornwall

Having worked Weds & Thurs in the SW, I stayed on Land's End for a couple of days in the hope of some vagrant American birds after some suitable weather but as usual was denied until I was heading home over the Devon / Cornwall border! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4425/37289828386_10187a72e8_b...

Badminton Horse Trials 2017 - Cross Country

Having not been to Badminton Horse Trials for 8 years, we decided on-spec to visit for the Cross-country phase on the Saturday. The numbers in attendance have risen greatly and getting near the fences or into ideal photo-spots is not easy or quick so here are a few of the rather hard-earned photos f...

Re: Canon extender help required

Don't forget that the Mk3 converters cannot be stacked together (if you should ever want to) without using an extension tube whereas the Mk2 will stack happily together. Stacking them on a 300/2.8 gives an 840mm lens at f8 so your AF should still work on at least the centre point. You will of course...
