Sanicole is also in September, and shares much of the RIAT participant-base. It certainly seemed the case that Scampton lost out due to to this.

Re: Is anybody happy with the Brexit white paper?
Exactly. How those folks are going to be 'just fine' when they are staring bankruptcy in the face is a good question isn't it. Let's not forget the actual cost of brexit either. How many billions, so far.. I don't really want to look it up, but huge amounts of cash has been spent on the whole thing ...

What a great watch that is, with stills at the end too. So much variety on show there.

Re: Is anybody happy with the Brexit white paper?
Because very many employers’ prosperity was reliant on us being members. Many many jobs are less secure now. This is the thing, it doesn’t matter what empty rhetoric is broadcast about opportunities that may be over the hill, about the adjustment that may or may not happen, but the actual reality is...

Re: Is anybody happy with the Brexit white paper?
What nonsense. The single most important thing to any country is the strength of its economy. Anything that wilfully damages that economy is an acute act of self harm. To vote yourself into insecurity is lunacy and certainly can't be compensated by comparing any of this to a personal relationship. D...

Re: 48Hr Photo Comp-The Grumman family
There have been some very characterful Grumman products over the years, nice subject. Here's a Duck to start. Sun blazing onto concrete was a bit a of problem with this photo, and sadly I didn't see it fly. What a machine though.Shot at the now closed Fantasy of Flight in central Florida. https://li...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
I can't see any circumstance where a vaccine, or if I'm honest even a test result, is needed for an outdoor event. The key thing is that the vulnerable in society are vaccinated, and therefore taken out of the sights of the virus. That hugely lessens the risk of the whole thing. Add to that the airf...

Re: 48 hour Photo Comp: Call me Douglas
If you’re really stuck Pete, there’s no harm in overlapping subjects that have been touched on before, as it would give everyone a chance to submit some new and different entries.
Back at the start it was one image only submission, so there’s plenty of untapped material there I’d guess.

Lovely theme for an aerobatic team fan like me. If rather difficult to narrow many to three, so my selection is rather arbitrary. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48535630186_9dab024686_o.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/856/42775318455_7c9b3a7062_o.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/848/43048376...

Re: Aviation- On This Day
I think I must have been stood beside Ian at Cottesmore, and Andy on the station platform at Cosford, as I have barely distinguishable shots from both of yours for those two days! The Harrier retirement is still galling all these years later. A withdrawal decision that seemed to make no sense and an...

Re: RIAT 50th Anniversary Book
I spent a good couple of hours with the book last night, and that wasn't enough for more than a cursory glance through. Its a really hefty piece of work, and in my opinion, absolutely captures IAT. It projects the atmosphere of the show, in the number of photographs, by including memorabilia and eph...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
Surely the big one is social distancing. If social distancing is in place, FRIAT and other enclosures are out of the question, and the meetings of the air arms etc will be impacted, though possible I guess? Those are just some of the challenges. Even crowd line distancing would be a challenge. I no...

Re: Flying Legends 2021 - 10th & 11th July at Sywell (Merged)
As the aircraft is TBD, more likely an F-15 Heritage Flight with the Friedkin's P-51's. Lot of expense to bring an A-10 or two/ground crew/equipment all the way across the pond just for two British airshows. A-10 Demo Team published its schedule overnight Brian, with Legends on it. No doubt, its th...
