It'll be the captured Argentinian one I'm guessing. Good to see outside, together with the other Falklands themed stuff.

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread

OK Lets rewrite it – I’m sure most people agree they are padding! It’s the opinion of everyone I watch aeroplanes with. Never once do I remember anyone I know saying “lets go to Linton and watch Tucanos ” And I bet If you held a poll on the day at the crowd line - is a PC-9 a highlight or padding?–...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2022

That’s quite neat. Haven’t seen it in these colours yet. Hopefully the Rolls Royce Spit can also be persuaded to join (unless it has already & I’ve missed it) Indeed, this P-51 has been such a regular at Cosford over the years since its Old Crow days, but it will be good to tick off the latest ...

Great to have the Silver Swallows back. I did wonder with it being their anniversary, if it was going to be any year it would be this one. Well done to them!

Re: Red Arrows - Seven aircraft display 2022

The Reds have have 7-ship seasons before, as mentioned above. I personally can't see it being a lasting change and am confident they'll be back to 9 next season. Don't wish to jinx anything, but they seem to have simply been a victim of circumstance and have adapted. I'm not sure just how much of a ...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2022

Although, We could do with one update a day to fill the show up  So a quick look at the flying displays of the most recent Cosfords. 2019 had 27 items, 2018 had 35 (although it was an RAF100 special), 2017 had 22. It may be unfair to compare to pre-pandemic (arguable, that one) but bei...

or a long long overdue appearance from The Turkish Stars. Only ever seen them once at Leeuwarden, but they were brilliant! Highly overdue - it would be great to see the Turkish Stars back at RIAT. Every year I hope for them and Patrouille Suisse to both be there, as a big F-5 fan. We haven't got th...

Re: Red Arrows - Seven aircraft display 2022

An 8 ship is usually a last resort when a pilot and/or a/c goes sick either just before/during a display or, over a weekend/couple of weekends - a stop gap if you will. A 7 ship is very much the set up should there be some form of incapacity in the run up prior to PDA - long term sickness, war(!), ...

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread

If a listing has had an event removed - rather than assume its some sort of typo - it usually means what it says. Maybe they are coming, maybe they aren't, but right now I'm inclined to take that listing at face value.

Anything announced in due course would be a massive bonus of course.

It was announced on Scramble to be June 16th - 18th 2023, Pratica di Mare. Take as a heads-up only until formally announced though, I think.

Did I imagine it or was it originally said that their would be a jubilee flypast of various aircraft at Cosford Airshow this year? I had it in my head thats what was said but I cant find it anywhere now and think I may have imagined it. I don't recall a flypast being mentioned - if it was it passed...

When was the last time two Hinds from two different nations flew in the flying display? Surprisngly only the Czechs have been to UK shows other than an appearance at Redhill 1989 in Soviet markings when a Mi24/35 and Mi28 both appeared presumably manufacturer sponsored. There was also the BAe syste...
