Re: Cosford Airshow 2022?

OK I booked, did anyone else get an email confirmation but no tickets. saying tickets will be sent at a later date? "You will receive a further email with your print at home ticket(s) at a later date" Every other time I've booked tickets have been sent right away. Yes, I think that's norm...

I agree Tom, odds on its a return of the Typhoon synchro display, but whatever it turns out to be its reassuring that the Air Force is making the most of what its able to offer.

Sunderland cancelled due to “uncertainty over Covid” amongst other reasons. I don't think there are 'other reasons'. As per the statement in the OP, the cancellation is due to the financial risk of committing now facing uncertainties that event can definitely go ahead. Its a great shame for the are...

Sadly its been looking as though Yeovilton is slipping into a hiatus - hopefully it is a hiatus and not a quiet retirement as so many of our shows have done. Can't say my hopes are very high. "resources/busy station/continuity/etc etc".

All the signs..

Great to see Fly Navy back but ('never satisfied' klaxon) I wish it was the June show and not in ever-congested July.

Re: Flying Legends 2021 - 10th & 11th July at Sywell (Merged)

As the aircraft is TBD, more likely an F-15 Heritage Flight with the Friedkin's P-51's. Lot of expense to bring an A-10 or two/ground crew/equipment all the way across the pond just for two British airshows. A-10 Demo Team published its schedule overnight Brian, with Legends on it. No doubt, its th...

Oh another tricky one for me, so its a token gesture I'm afraid. I've never gone out of my way to shoot gate guardians unless they are really interesting. Here's RAF Binbrook's in the low afternoon sun, followed by two from Pensacola, the SabreLiner which is the gate guard for the NAS, and the F-14 ...

You're probably right, but the Isle of Man is in a very different position to the rest of the country as they have got almost total eradication of Covid. Very nice scanning work Darren. That Skywarrior turned out, for me, to be one of those one-offs. I never saw one again, operational anyway, and didn't really grasp the significance at the time. Luckily I did photograph it. Its departure was ace as I remember.

Ah, this is quite a sad thread isn't it? "In the words of Dr Suess..." as no doubt Sean Maffett would say. First from me, Alconbury. A great airshow venue. The shows were a bit hit and miss, but that was part of the charm. Having missed Mildenhall in 1984, Alconbury of that year was the fi...

Re: Hobbyboss 1/48 F-84F

Great line-up, beautifully done. There's something about those silver ones. A F-105 in a display team beggars belief. What a sight and sound that must have been. It was a bit of a disaster. They had to make loads of mods to try to adapt it to close formation work, then lost one in a fatal accident....

They only did six displays on the F-105, but they did do six displays, yes.

Its a very very nice collection Derek, I'm admiring that line-up very much.
