Up £5 from last year, hardly ‘a lot’Orion wrote: ↑Thu 01 Apr 2021, 3:06 pmhttps://www.iwm.org.uk/membership
Gone up a lot, not clear yet how much it will cost to attend Duxford without membership.
Duxford website shows adult admission is £22.70, or £25 with gift aid.

Re: Red Arrows Flying For Their Lives
The 16 Tranche 1 two-seater Typhoons have already been parted-out for spares for the rest of the fleet, and then scrapped. I’m sure the 24 single-seaters will follow this route once they are withdrawn.

Hawk T1 slated for retirement in today’s Defence Review announcement
However, the ‘Integrated Force 2030’ graphic in the Defence Review document specifically shows the Red Arrows, so presumably there will be a much-rumoured Hawk T2 buy to re-equip them at some point.

Re: Wallop Wheels and Wings 2021 3/7
With museum admission being £14 on a normal day, I’d say £17 for the event (including admission to the museum) is something of a bargain.

Re: Wallop Wheels and Wings 2021 3/7
And it is even more if you want to visit the museum as well !! Surely when this sort of event is planned as a museum fund raiser the least they could do is include museum admission in the ticket price. I have no issue with an arrivals day / early bird / paddock access at extra price assuming that i...

A shame, that was the last flying original-spec Heron. At least it has been saved, but it seems a big ask for an individual without substantial funding behind him to put it back in the air.

Re: Chipmunk 75th Anniversary Fly In - OW 22 May 2021
The Shuttleworth website says this is an evening event? Is that correct? Oh, and also you only need a £15 daily entrance ticket and not a £10 car space and £34 adult ticket which is what happens if you click on that event on the events page? Thanks. I think you’re confusing this with the evening ai...

Re: “Integrated Review” - SDSR 2021
So if you add that lot up, it’s a reduction of around 200 airframes from planned levels. Not to mention the already-announced loss of 736 Sqn’s Hawk T1s this year.
A total reduction larger than most countries’ entire Air Forces.

Re: “Integrated Review” - SDSR 2021
I'm also expecting the additional 12 AH-64Es (50 promised, 38 ordered) to quietly fall off the table too (or are they already part of the reduction of 45 helicopters?)
This will most likely mean one of Wattisham or Middle Wallop will close.

However, I'm with you Tommy: bin the carriers and stick to being what we might be able to resource, a European country defending itself through NATO. Empire is long over. That doesn’t fit with Boris’ post-Brexit narrative though. He likes his shiny, big-ticket projects, usually at the expense of er...

This is rather controversial to say the least. Peter Jackson did indeed want to remake the movie, but was told that no Hollywood studio would allow him to produce it unless he changed the dog’s name. He said it was part of the story and refused, ergo no remake. Where did you read that, the Daily Ma...
