One observation - no-one asked me about COVID/vaccine status when I arrived.
There is no requirement to do so on a non-airshow day.

What is happening to the building?
It is being returned to the council, who own it. It was only ever leased by the museum. What they will do with it is anyone’s guess. 🤷🏼

Dont wish to be the only nay sayer here but they gave had my money sitting in their bank for xxx amount of months!
Unlikely

That money will have been spent maintaining the organisation for the 3 years between events, with little or no income stream to cover expenses in that period.

*They* don’t just decide to “hold a normal show after all”. They can only hold it if the arrangements adhere to the government regulations in place at the time of the show. If the regulations change, so will the arrangements.

The RAF Chinook and RN Wildcat are on the circuit.
Chinook has a fancy new paint job and a pretty patch for 2021, but no PDA yet and no display dates announced.

Chinook still doesn’t have PDA, nor have the team announced any display dates yet.

Are The Wildcats still a thing?

Great news! Can't find conclusive evidence whether it will be in the flying display or just on static though?
A Vampire landing on the grass at Gransden? Now that would be worth the price of a ticket just to see that!

Looks like a full house for the GP at Silverstone in a few weeks time.
…but still only 4,000 if you’re organising an airshow that doesn’t have the political clout of F1 or 22 overpaid prima donnas kicking a bag of wind around a park for 90 minutes

Also the toilets are still outside the showground so you have to fight people coming in to get to them, there's no dedicated exit, crazy.
There was another set of toilets within the showground at the left-hand end of the crowdline.

Re: Headcorn Battle of Britain Air Show 2021

Reds stooged around just below the cloud base for 5 minutes as a 4-ship and a 5-ship, decided they didn’t like the conditions and left without displaying. BBMF canned their appearance too

Other than that, there was a full programme and a really excellent afternoon’s flying.

Of course, if all Covid restrictions are indeed lifted on 19 July as currently scheduled, present requirements for zoning, limit of 4,000 on ticket numbers etc will be null and void.

Re: Military Air Show 4th July 2021

A very good line up and the helicopters will look very good at the venue. Could probably do with one more big engined second world war type on show to balance it up, especially with the inter war stuff presumably all grounded - Gladiator, Hind, Demon? The Gladiator has been active at most, if not a...

A sad but expected outcome. Sell the Sea Fury, probably to Sanders in California who have the skills and parts to rebuild it, WG655 will probably end up there too.
Perhaps they could send them both out there in the same skip, save on the shipping costs.
