Unless they are already planning to have some deployed to Europe in the same timeframe.

As others have said, the A-10 team themselves have listed Sywell and Fairford on their schedule for next year

Re: Reid & Sigrist RS4 Bobsleigh Desford aircraft

Just for clarification, as there seems to be a lack of clarity at the moment, is the proposal for Leicestershire County Council to loan the Desford to NAM for display, or to transfer ownership altogether?

Re: Reid & Sigrist RS4 Bobsleigh Desford aircraft

That would be a great outcome. Currently there seem to be no plans (or funding) to fly it at the moment, and it languishes out of sight on a private airfield. I for one am looking forward to the opportunity to see it on public display at Newark, so I hope it comes to fruition.

Re: Duxford Diary 2020

I wish they’d put it back in the correct green/grey markings it would have had from the factory though, instead of the present pretend Battle of Britain colours it has now. And before anyone comments, I know the owner likes it that way, and he can paint it the way he wants.

Re: Airshow melancholy.

Thanks to Old Warden (God bless ‘em) and Duxford Showcase days, 2021 turned out much better than it could have been. With visits to Headcorn and Biggin Hill as well over the summer, I saw 14 or 15 different Spitfires in the air this year. My first show would probably have been to RAF Coltishall Batt...

A blatant cheat, a cocaine junkie, an alcoholic, a tax dodger and fathered several illegitimate children, at least one of which he refused to take responsibility for for years. But hey, he could kick a bag of wind around a field, so I guess that makes it all okay.

Leeds East/Church Fenton I would prefer logistically, 1700m runway, more grass for parking, M1 close etc.
Nick Grey publicly said that they were looking for a location as close to Cambridge as possible. The frozen Northern wastelands out beyond Peterborough don't tick that box.

Re: F1 ( and other motorsports ) 2020

The technical gadgets and DRS are the same for everyone, so I don’t see how that gives a particular driver an advantage. Schumacher also had plenty of technical gadgets, legal or otherwise, at his disposal. And as to team orders, it’s laughable to suggest that Schumacher’s team mates were allowed to...

Re: Canberra WT327 to the U.K.

The permit lapsed in 2008, so that would suggest it was last flown a year or so before that. The VTTS website mentions it suffering an engine failure in 2007. It was certainly flying at the Coventry air show in 2003

Re: Canadian Tempest

Neither of Kermit’s Tempests are ever likely to fly under his ownership. The project has effectively been abandoned (like the Spitfire return to flight, getting the B-25 back in the air, the Benoist, the 2 DH-4s, and many more). Andy Salter, who was leading the restoration, retired and moved away an...

It wasn’t so long ago that SVAS member tickets were half price. Now the saving is not much more than 10% when you factor in the cost of a parking space. 😢

Re: Shuttlewworth 2021 dates announced

The pricing is still very reasonable. I was going to say ‘compared with other live events’ but I suspect there won’t be many of those in the first half of 2021 to compare a £21-£34 ticket price against.
