No ‘rumour mill’ - DAS themselves posted on statement on Facebook that they will be receiving a 32 Sqn RAF BAe146 in March, with a photograph of it. Then they removed it.

One of the Firefly wings was visible in one of the side buildings (the old 'Blenheim Palace') when I was visiting Duxford over the Christmas break.

The AWACS were built in the 1980s, and are no longer in service (although they still fly on occasion to keep them flyable)

The last E-3s to be built, the first fleet to be retired. 😢

Yes, a friend of mine was working on it and he showed me some photos of it on his phone the last time I saw him. Tragically he didn’t survive the first wave of Covid.

I wonder if any major art museums are run by people who are not subject matter experts, without a deep academic knowledge of art history and therefore no true appreciation of the objects under their care.

Interesting to see a return of the fully-fledged October airshow.
It's no different from this year, which was a full airshow, just a change of nomenclature from a flying day to an airshow, so they can charge Members for tickets too

The EH-101 prototype is already in the process of being removed from Hendon, it has most likely gone by now. I guess it will shortly be up for disposal too.

That particular aircraft/airframe never flew with the RAF therefore no Relevance. https://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/documents/collections/84-AF-888-TB-25N-Mitchell.pdf They'd better get rid of the B-17, P-51, P-40, P-47 and a bunch of others too, using that logic. Not to mention the ridiculous pale grey...

Aircraft modelling is a great hobby around the world; in my opinion there were 4 people who really made the hobby so strong in this country. Alan Hall, Dick Ward, Dave Hannant and Mike; Mike was the last,
I’d agree with that, but would also add Ray Rimmel to the list

Unless they are already planning to have some deployed to Europe in the same timeframe.

As others have said, the A-10 team themselves have listed Sywell and Fairford on their schedule for next year

Just for clarification, as there seems to be a lack of clarity at the moment, is the proposal for Leicestershire County Council to loan the Desford to NAM for display, or to transfer ownership altogether?

Re: Reid & Sigrist RS4 Bobsleigh Desford aircraft

That would be a great outcome. Currently there seem to be no plans (or funding) to fly it at the moment, and it languishes out of sight on a private airfield. I for one am looking forward to the opportunity to see it on public display at Newark, so I hope it comes to fruition.
