Re: FRIAT 2024
We still go through the same security tent etc the only addition we create is the manning of the gate - from memory there is usually two squaddies there - is that really a concern to security esp as RIAT have our names, addresses, bank account details etc etc. Not defending nor am I representing th...

Re: FRIAT 2024
Just another thought, FRIAT stated that they are removing the fast track entry benefit from the website. If it is confirmed in due course as not available then they should offer cancellation with a complete refund to anyone who bought tickets and no longer wish to attend.

Re: FRIAT 2024
I cannot fathom why it makes a difference to security to have the FRIAT fast track lane. As mentioned above, all it does is bypass the public queue and you go through the same security. If we lose the fast track access there's no way I can continue to justify attending the show through FRIAT & ...

Re: Midlands Air Festival 2024 (31 May - 2 June)
2024 will be my first visit to MAF and will be my wife’s once a decade airshow. We are going on Saturday and I’ll not be able to employ my usual airshow tactic of arriving as the gates open and then going to sleep for an hour! I would be grateful if any previous visitors can advise on ease of entry...

Re: RIAT E-mails
Guys a warning, the email doesn't look like an official email address and a good few on social media are saying they feel its phishing scam and have reported it to RIAT. Email says its from RIAT but when you hover over it the email is 358751@r1.dotdigital-email.com Also the link, while the link say...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
Just hope there are no leaks like the other year with the harriers. Don't want them to lose trust To be honest I think it is unrealistic and unfair to give privileged information and not expect it to be passed onwards. Think about it, why should a limited number of FRIAT members be given that infor...

Why don’t we make it a members only forum. Would that not speed things up and keep the bots out ?

Panasonic Compact TZ series
Looking to replace my Panasonic compact TZ60 which seems to be coming to the end of its life. Panasonic have stopped making them and it seems there is nowhere to buy a new TZ whether it is a 70 or 80. An other alternative is to try to the used market but not sure where to go. Grateful for any help o...

Pretty sure it flew overhead at lowish level near RSPB Pulborough on Wednesday last week. It was too quick to get the camera out the rucksack unfortunately

RAF Leeming
FWIW Just read a click bait from Yorkshire Post saying that RAF Leeming is about to enter period of 'significant additional aircraft movement' with 24-hour flying for the rest of 2023 as it hosts several exercises The RAF said: “The station is about to enter a period of significant additional aircra...

Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2024
Interesting... so back to Jagel then. I enjoyed 2014 and it's a beautiful part of the world. Agreed it is a beautiful unspoilt part of the world. However I felt that the 2014 event itself was hugely disappointing. The spotters were crammed in and poorly placed for anything other than taxi shots (if...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
To me its simple... for pure safety planning reasons organisers have to assume that every person who has the right to access an area will when working out capacity and therefore advanced ticket sale limits. That means assuming FRIAT will all be in East or West instead of their enclosure. That's reg...
