Re: Reoch @ Yeovilton 2012

No comment on the photos but a definite comment on the pre-amble. Air Day had something for everyone and some unique items/formations. 'Desperately disappointing' just isn't justified.

Re: John Blake Airshow Commentator Now RIP

One that's just come back to me is from Biggin Hill Air Fair 1995, on the Sunday, following a fantastic, vapour-wrapped performance from Anatoly Kvotchur in the Su-27. Something like: "well, after THAT, he could probably display inside a cereal box!"

Tremendous man.

Re: John Blake Airshow Commentator Now RIP

Very sad news indeed - RIP. Two massive losses to the airshow community this month, and last, from his and Jock's deaths.

Newsletter was created/issued just prior to the Sea Vix confirmation.

Heard but not seen over Barnstaple! Any indication whether that's our lot, or whether they might come out to play again this evening?

Re: Does anyone have any photos from Biggin Hill shows 1982 to 2

I'm sure. The Bucc's last airshow season was '93 and the Su-27 first appeared in '92, so a shot with both in could only be '92 or '93. '92 saw a single Su-27 attend and there's only one in that pic (the second would be parked alongside it), plus that's the position it was parked in prior to its slot...

Buccs and Vulcans all 1992, Breitling Fighters 1999.

Your Mosquitos are both 1992 and I'm pretty sure your Su-27s are all 1999 - a mixture of Saturday and Sunday (presuming you went both days!)

Re: Flying with 27 Sqn

You're missing a key point to my mind - even though Epic Formacion's (very well-worded) post's made it abundantly clear. I personally don't think the criticism's justified, but that aside - contributed images DO fuel the UKAR engine to a large degree. And that's not apparently been recognised or ack...

Pretty sure it was one of Cobham's Super King Airs on a calibration run (only caught a brief glimpse of it and I'm the wrong side of town!). Don't have an ID, but G-FPLD seems to be a regular.

Excellent! The 3-ship gear-down run and the B Axis break were very nicely done and, as you say Geoff, four Voodoos is fun enough! Agreed it was a comprehensive and fairly lengthy display (by B-2 standards!), but it had been seen the year before at RIAT 99.
