Saw this yesterday and I found it interesting..

Apparently a couple of OV-10's have had the cobwebs and dust knocked off of them and they have been flying combat missions against ISIS.

Re: Planes on sticks
That Voodoo sure looks nice! I'd loved to have been able to see one fly. Here is a T-37 at the entrance to Bartow Municipal Airport in Florida. Bartow used to be a training base before it converted to a civilian airport. https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3947/15323556767_e8fb084866_b.jpg Tweet on a Sti...

Re: A "What If" Model.....Israeli A-10
Thanks, all! I have built a few models in my time and they have all looked VERY amateur! This is the first time I have owned one of this level of build quality and I am very glad to have it! The fellow who built it for me put a lot of hours into it.
Cheers!

That's very nice!! Cool model! I have to admit I am a fan of "what if" models and renderings.

A "What If" Model.....Israeli A-10
This model was built for me by a friend. It's a 1/72 scale Academy kit. Him and I had recently been discussing the fact that the A-10 may be retired from US service, which, in my opinion, would be a mistake. Anyway, the idea came up that if we Americans retired them, maybe Israel could put them to u...

"Wounded" Lockheed Neptune
A few weeks ago, this Lockheed SP-2H Neptune had it's nose gear collapse upon landing at Fresno Yosemite International Airport. Notice the damaged propellors and nose cone. Thankfully nobody got hurt and they are slowly nursing this bird back to health. [url][url=https://flic.kr/p/odKWsL] https://fa...

Wow! I'd hope they would at least fly it once in a while! However, maybe the news story missed something. That's not exactly unprecedented when it comes to local news!

Re: Stealth Bomber 1, Buzzard 0
The B-2's first recorded air-to-air kill!
I doubt the bird felt much of anything! That looks like it was a pretty quick demise.
EDIT: Very nice set of shots, by the way!

I sure appreciate the insight.
It made for an interesting little "airshow" of sorts as I was doing some yard chores.

Re: Possible In-Flight Issue - FedEx MD-11
Rory76, I was able to identify the flight on Flightradar24. It was FedEx Flight 9060 from Sacramento to Los Angeles. It was showing 17,000' as it flew over my area, so it was a little lower than I estimated. Because of the relatively short duration (maybe 350 or so nautical miles), maybe they didn't...

Possible In-Flight Issue - FedEx MD-11
This past Sunday morning, I was in doing some yard work and I heard some jet noise up in the sky. Whenever I hear any aircraft, I look to see what it is. I noticed what looked like a large, airliner sized aircraft, but it was flying very slowly and at a lower altitude than they normally fly. It was ...

Wow, if you're moving to Florida too does that mean we will finally get to meet up? We will be in Palm Bay on the east coast. I sure hope we can meet up! I'm from Vero Beach, which is only about 25 miles from Palm Bay. I'm not exactly sure where in Florida I will land (my job search will determine ...

Very nice shots of some beautiful aircraft, Keith! Good luck on your move to my home state, and I probably will be moving back there soon, myself. Don't forget the sunblock! Also, to reply to the comment by sylvancatharsis ".....sadly, this being the U.S., they're probably just rich boys' toys ...

Edwards AFB Stuff
Here are a few rarer birds taken at Edwards AFB during their 2009 Open House. I always enjoy being able to be there on that legendary airfield. Lockheed ER-2 http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7113/7619961008_1627787257_b.jpg Scaled Composites "White Knight" http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2534/4...

Re: RAF in the USA?
Yes, there is a lot of that kind of thing, but 99% of the world population doesn't keep up with aircraft like we enthusiasts do. That being said, some of what you hear can be quite astounding. Oh well....It is what it is.
