Re: RAF Cosford museum

Just tried a booking... no indication whatsoever you have to book a slot for a tour. I guess the slot requirement simply allows them to manage the customer flow and certainly from my side, I would find it very useful as it won't be over busy at any one time. Guided tours are available for those that...

Nice reminders :-) I must admit, hearing 2002/3 is classed as 'back in the day' is a tad alarming :-)

BTW I was quite shocked I saw people in their 60s attending RIAT, barley walking, tripping over grass but trying to get that one photo🤨

Re: Tommy at Kemble - Negus Retirement

Fantastic shots Tommy.

Watched it unfold on FR24. Did several holding patterns and I assumed it was because of the weather and thought she would divert. Looking at your pics seems unbelievable you got that window.

Fair play for going to get them.

Sad day.

Dear Stagger2, your attitude is everything I hate about what this great forum has (sometimes) become. If you don't want to help that's fine, but why announce the fact so vociferously. If you've nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Re: A day at Davis Monthan AFB (A-10s)

Fantastic set of images, especially the A-10s. How I miss these stunning aircraft.

I haven't checked yet, but some of these aircraft registrations seem familiar, I wonder if some are the ones based at Alconbury, Woodbridge etc. back in the day.

Anyway, loved them all, thanks for sharing.

Have to say this is my pick of the RIAT selections so far this year.

Hard to say why, just really appeals. Nice to see the pilots in their 'natural' state, lovely.

Good job Nick.

Re: Birmingham Airport Parking rip off

Airport Parking is definitely becoming an expensive business. I'm not even sure booking very early (if you can) saves you much. Best Airport I use is East Midlands. I got 5 days at £45. When booking I always add on as much time to my return time as I can before the price goes up a level. Worth a try...

I heard a similar reason to that EGLL mentioned... environmentalists complaining. Will have a look tonight to see if that is the case.

What a shame... I was really looking forward to these flights :-(

Re: Deutsches Technikmuseum & Tempelhof, Berlin - March 2019

Visited both last year, very interesting. My observations.... 1) The platform leading to the C-47 at the Museum is see thru towards it's edge, I nearly had a fit when I looked down and saw the street miles (well, a few feet) below. Very nice restaurant there too with trad German cuisine. 2) Well don...
