Re: Fujimi 1/72 A-4F Skyhawk 'Blue Angels'
Very nice
I believe that the Blue Angels literally fixed their Slates in the raised position, as their deployment during high AoA is a bit 'iffy'. Especially when in very close formation.

Re: Photo shoot for flight school - advice needed
If you do conduct any air to air photography, try to ensure that both the photo pilot and the subject pilot are experienced in formation flying. It will ensure you greater success in shooting, and also make it less hazardous for all.

Re: Eurofighter 1/8 scale
It looks simply superb. Great job!
I'm sure I heard once about painting models a shade or two lighter than the fullsized paint. Something to do with more surface area, or more light hitting the real one? Not a criticism, just a question.

Re: RAW File Size
That's a bit like asking how much I can eat About 4 times the usual number... For important stuff that I want to record in RAW, I'll generally shoot simultaneous RAW and Small JPEG. Then I can flick through the jpegs easily, and then Edit the appropriate RAW files for maximum quality. If it's a shoo...

Re: RAW File Size
If you are going to shoot RAW, especially for quality and maximum flexibility, then you should shoot them in LARGE format. Think of them as the NEGATIVE image - you really want the best in quality to reproduce your images from.

Re: japanese airforce
The discussion is all well and good, I just have some compassion for the people of Japan.
Perhaps I just mis-read Thumper's attitude. Describing the loss of jets as 'Horrendous'.

Re: japanese airforce
'Horrendous' seems quite a strong word to use about a couple of jets, when the true scale of the disaster in terms of human lives are compared.

RIAT Kiwi B757 video request
An RNZAF Flying buddy asked for my help in acquiring some footage taken during the 2010 RIAT B757 display. They had approved a cockpit Video camera, but have had no luck securing any comms or footage since. Does anyone know who would have filmed it? I think they expected it to be on the DVD. Thanks,...

Re: What Equipment do you use??
Hi Phil,
Guys here use a massive variety of equipment, from the cheapest to the super-expensive.
You sound like you have a good setup. Don't worry too much about what the other guys use. Simply know your equipment inside out, read the manuals twice or more, and practice.
Best of luck, Mike

You must have driven quite fast to be at both locations to confirm. At least... 401 mph
Or, it was something a lot smaller or a lot closer, covering the same arc...
