You can take pictures in there-lots of people do. There's even a mini FRIAT like stand there for people to sit in and take photos which is elevated.

Chatting to the Plane Sailing guys at Duxford last weekend and asked much the same thing.

Response was that 'you couldn't pay them enough money' to land on salt water, to preserve the airframe.

They do land on fresh water at least once a year however (in Italy IIRC).
