Re: Prop blur on Mirrorless Cameras

Another conundrum. Battery from my last visit to London was showing at 1% on the rear screen but when I put it in the charger, it was at 27%.

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

But my point still stands, those in their mid 60s (mooshie and me included) aren't being called forward yet, and in any case won't be called forward until 6 months after our second dose. I had my second dose on the 29th May and not expecting to hear anything or be called forward for a booster until...

Re: Prop blur on Mirrorless Cameras

I may be wrong but I was under the impression that it's the EVF on mirrorless that chews through batteries, obviously don't have that on SLR. Sony say that the A7III has a battery life of 610 shots when the viewfinder is used and 710 when the rear screen is used. I use the EVF more than the rear sc...

Re: Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross.

Hand Held? As always. Majority at 1/20th sec @ f2.8 and the sensor on the Sony a6500 is designed to let more light reach the sensor, not quiet the excellent back illuminated for high ISO/low noise you get on full frame sensors, and the in camera 5-axis stabilisation and Optical Steady Shot in the l...

Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross.

I usually wait until British Summer Time ends before wandering around London on a night shoot but as I was in King’s Cross Station with a bit of time to spare before my train home, I went for a Bimble around Coal Drops Yard, which is about a three minute walk from the station, to get in a bit of Low...

Re: Prop blur on Mirrorless Cameras

The thing that worries me most is battery life. I can get by with a single battery on a days shooting including a full day at an airshow. Battery life for mirrorless appears much shorter than for a typical SLR. Is that a fair assessment? Yes - or it is in my experience using a Sony A7iii. I'm not c...

I only use the silent shutter for night photography. No one can hear what you are doing in the dark.

As Rick has said above, you need to use mechanical shutter. Scroll down link for Harvard prop images.

nice to see them leave at the end of the day.
Best bit about the M11 end, no prattling voices to drown out the sounds of Merlin engines. :grinning:

Thick fog here in Cambridgeshire, and down south, due to lift around mid-day apparently. Lysander, plus a few others not made public yet, added to the flying list.

Yes, the main car park is usually open well before that
Heard a rumour that as it's sold out there is now way all the cars will fit in the visitors car park so car parking will be northside as per airshows. Just a rumour.

Re: Windows 11

Apparently my PC 'doesn't currently meet all system requirements for Windows 11'. Ran the PC health Checker and everything is compatible apart from the Intel Celeron Processor. As the Windows 10 OSD is October 14th, 2025, I'll just continue using W10 as by 2025 I'll probably need a new PC anyway.

Are you sure you've got a ticket for the right day as because since this morning when they changed the web site it's all greyed out.
