Re: The Red Arrows will be moving to.....

Last I heard via FC they were moving to Valley which makes sense. Dont shoot the messenger Training bases and the Reds don’t necessarily mix very well. I’d be surprised if they move West of the border. The airspace issue, and access too and from their home airfield will probably be the biggest cons...

Re: RIAT 2019

Viper display looked terrific throughout. And after at times feeling neglected at the West P&V it was made up for when they sent down every Range Rover they could muster although, spoilt fractionally by a couple of Migs getting in the way. This ^^^^^^^^ 5 "Follow Me" 4 x 4's turn up t...

Re: RIAT 2019

Well, a lesson learnt, then. 2019 Sunday only ticket holders (for whatever reason, due to work, financial, family or any other related issues)

Plan now for RIAT 2020 so you can go to both days next year so that you won't get caught out by "1 day only displays".

Re: RIAT 2019

But as an off the cuff idea it could have been a "joint" Airbus 50th/ BA 100th event one of each Airbus type passing doing a topside pass, then finished off with a A350/ Reds pass. (assuming there is an A350 already in the BA paint scheme?) Pretty sure the BA A350 hasn't been officially d...

Re: RIAT 2019

It's just the filler while the B2 holds for 20 mins over Brize for a single pass. Or the osprey holds in the near distance then cancels! These are the two things that make me worry, we will see these (for us) priority items in the hold, as the A400 & Blades trundle by us all. But as an off the ...

Re: RIAT 2019

The static has just one (1) RAF fighter. A single 9 Sqn Typhoon. That must be an all time low. (Only one step from the lowest possible ) Indeed, this (IMO) is a very poor commitment from the RAF. Operational requirements or not, there are 2 (I think) Typhoon units deployed out of 8 (soon to be 9). ...

Re: There a hole in my bucket dear Liza dear Liza

It has been hugely over sensationalized by the press due to social media, and the British press always looking for someone to rip apart. Back in the 30's to 60's did we see constant posts of newly designed RN ships "springing leaks" of course we didn't as it was all happening during the sh...

Re: RIAT 2019

If that is the case it will be another knife into the heart of this year's show being far from a classic. I seem to recall a BoB flypast not so long ago which included launching F-15s, Mirage 2000s, F-16s, a Boeing 757 (ffs) and various RAF types from Fairford without too much effort and performing...

Re: Eurocopter Tigre attendance at UK Airshow

It is indeed a rare bird to be seen. While I was watching the ADF role demo at Avalon 2015, even Aussie spotters there were telling me they rarely see them! Pity really as it’s part in the role demo was pretty nimble. They performed the same type of demo as the AAC apache does in UK along with a “co...

Re: Eurocopter Tigre attendance at UK Airshow

Not sure of the French, But the Aussies have lots of trouble with them - can't wait to retire them. They are seen as a disaster. This time the AAAC have said they want the Apache E to replace what seems to have been another “Government knows better than the Military” scenario we see here in the UK ...

Usually from around 1st of July they stop posting weekly to posting additions/ cancellations “as and when” per day.

Re: RIAT 2019

I think a lot of the reason that North American teams demos end up with such big pauses in them when performing in the UK is that the regs are so different. As those rules are basically drawn up by NATO , there shouldn't be much difference between the rules in countries that are members of NATO. If...

Re: RIAT 2019

Just a thought, it’s a shame that we’re not getting the F-15E demo as they could have had one of the specially marked up E’s flying with the P-47 ‘Nellie’ is it? There would be Liberty Wing’s red and white chequerboards aplenty!
