Re: HAC selling their fleet
One of the Hawker biplanes was in H2 on stands today and the Fury was in H3. One (the Nimrod?) left late last week.

I’d missed the announcement of the Alize.Domvickery wrote: ↑Mon 15 Apr 2024, 4:46 pmWhat’s the addition?
I can only see the Alize which had been announced since the forum
(Still addicted to the good old days when part of the excitement was turning up the first morning to see what had arrived!)

Re: FRIAT 2024
The feedback from the FRIAT forum has just dropped into my inbox; as ever some very useful information and a very nice addition to the static. My one worry is the potential lack of fast track entrance at blue gate; one hopes that the police objection can be overcome as the reality is it's not a secu...

Love the Anson pictures. As for the Mosquito start up; dry grass, flames out of the exhaust, wooden aircraft - what could possibly go wrong!

Re: Midlands Air Festival 2024 (31 May - 2 June)
2024 will be my first visit to MAF and will be my wife’s once a decade airshow. We are going on Saturday and I’ll not be able to employ my usual airshow tactic of arriving as the gates open and then going to sleep for an hour! I would be grateful if any previous visitors can advise on ease of entry,...

Re: Marham Query
Marham is not the easiest base to spot at with the main road having few pull offs and being busy. We don’t have many F-35s and some of those are busy on the carriers; I have also read that a significant amount of pilot training, even a majority, is done on a simulator rather than in the air. Keep an...

Motormouser,
Can I ask if you are quoting a press release or if you personally have been involved/instrumental in this development. Either way, having flown from that airport, I hope it works out.

Remember when the RAF did trials where a Lightning (EE) was tasked against a Spitfire; not so easy due to the disparity in speed.

On Friday the aircraft in red and blue areas are in place so you can walk to FRIAT from the car parks. Green zone is still live so to get from the green car park you use the internal shuttle bus. On Monday FRIAT run a walking bus across from blue gate only to get into the stand. Morning is ok becaus...

Re: FRIAT 2024
A few thoughts. You might manage to get a taxi to drop you off at either of the P&Vs but might find it hard to get a guaranteed return. As for show days I think, but might be very wrong, that there is a drop off point at yellow gate, but no parking and the one way system is in place for the retu...

If we get Phantoms can you arrange for the French to refuse them airspace on departure day - it was great to get them in the circuit and see the break and land (having not been there when Spooky arrived.)

I visited the Science Museum site at Wroughton 20 years ago (maybe longer). In terms of a/c the Constellation, Boeing 247 and raspberry ripple Gnat are worth visiting for but I also remember experimental cars and all sorts of bits and pieces. Definite visit if in the area.
