Re: Daks Over Normandy - June 2019

Was in the cafe at Duxford today. Guys on the table next to me loudly discussing the Daks over Normandy night photo shoot they are organising. Not much option other than to listen whilst I ate...... Apparently its going to be £95 for access to three aircraft only. The rest to be strictly ‘off limits...

To make it real, make sure you have a couple of random blue panels on the aircraft  Don't think I've flown one that is as originally painted.

Aaah, corrected now! I knew I'd get that wrong, how can you tell the difference between a HC.1 and HC.2? Thanks again for organising a great line up, and conspiring with the weather gods to make sure we remained dry!

A shame how over the top the security will be, when you consider how little security they have at home......Yuma show last year, tiny fence and a couple of marines.....

Did my best to make it sort of busy at the weekend. We were bashing the circuit in an A320 for most of Saturday and KLM we're doing similar with an Embraer 190. Put a few £s in the coffers I would imagine.

Re: High winds force Emirates go-around 2013

Go arounds by their very nature are typically unplanned, and so a combination of startle factor and the need for a couple of steps to ensure the aircraft is climbing away correctly prior to the selection of gear up would cause the delay you mention. Consider on a take off, after rotation and once th...

No, the A319 would not be able to fly the steep approach and the runway length would be too short.

Nice one Jeff, though I remain to be convinced that you are the apprentice on the front row.....and I can see some familiar faces in the first two rows, along with some particularly nasty suits!

So far I've done 3 years, then 17 years, wonder how long my third stint at BA will turn out?
