Re: UK Offered AH-64E at a very good price and guess what...

From what I've read the OSD isn't 2017 but support for the D version will start to be reduced by the OEMs as spares etc will stop being made therefore increasing the cost of keeping the D's going past that date.

FS: Canon EF 400mm L USM f/5.6

Hi all, I'm selling my Canon 400mm L Prime. Excellent condition with a couple of small paint chips. The lens hood has just been repaired because it was jammed and the focussing assembly has also been replaced because it was sticky when trying to focus manually. All work done by Fixation in London. L...

PR Diasaster!!! Was it ever coming a week ago, doubt it. Time to pull out the glossy Rafale and hornet Brochures. DAVE = Diasaster and very Elusive! On with the Show!! You have no idea what sort of effort has gone into trying to get the clearance to come over. The fact they've waited this long to f...

Re: Talking Point - Is The F-35 Right For Britain?

As we have such a limited defence budget and a reasonable relationship with the US why dont we just operate hand me downs from Davis Monthan. Because we're better than that and are not a third world nation. We have ambitions and responsibilities with a sizeable defence budget to go along with it. T...

Re: Dave (F-35) coming to the UK this summer

I think I'll try posting my question in here as this is the dedicated F-35 coming to the UK thread and not a participation thread. I asked (in the RIAT participation thread) if the F-35B would be showing off it's STOVL capabilities. Obviously this has sort of been answered here, a case of wait and ...

Re: FAO Andy Armstrong - How To Solve A Problem Like RIAT...

The reasons for RIAT's decline in attendance terms at least is down to many, many reasons. I'd suggest the following are just some of them, which the new man could do worse than consider... * Heavy-handed security and resulting queues * Spiralling cost * Mediocre and repeat displays year on year * ...

Re: Are you in or out?

Duxford was definitely not at capacity on Sunday. The majority of those who went to the field had no intention of going inside so I don't understand that argument. The "payloading" at RIAT is far more heinous, depriving a charity show of income, while lining the pockets of opportunistic la...

Re: Sky News and Dambusters...

My only gripe with the flypast was..........Spitfires -- Why ?? Not part in the actual Raid & 617 never equipped with them , so a pointless addition. Not pointless at all. Spitfires were used prior to the raid to take photographs of each target and after the raid to confirm success. So very muc...
