Re: Airstrikes in Syria - UKAR's Thoughts?

Number 3 is slightly interesting. I'm sure we have more Tornadoes ready to go at Marham plus she seems to have forgotten about the Typhoons

Re: Airstrikes in Syria - UKAR's Thoughts?

He struck me as someone who would represent me locally to the very best of his ability.
Agreed. This is what I had an argument about with some people during the last election. That they should think locally as much as nationally when voting

Re: Airstrikes in Syria - UKAR's Thoughts?

Just seen on the Daily Politics show that 17 MPs abstained on last night's vote ( 10 Labour & 7 Conservatives ) See I don't have a problem with some of them abstaining. It's a democracy isn't it? No one of any party should be made to vote either way. Personally I would have abstained if I was a...

Agreed. When all the Vulcan crew and engineers, past and present, come across as intelligent and competent; why do they have to use someone who presents as such a complete breast?

Guy Martin is a very good engineer so I thought he made a good choice for presenter

They should stick the two additional Typhoon squadrons into Leeming. What a waste of a great base and infrastrure that place is at the moment.

So should places like RAF Upwood be classed as a Greenfield site?

Great project and photo's. Sad to see a once such vibrant site like it is now. Is anything being kept or any kind of memorial etc going to be placed?

Also I wonder how many local people can afford the "the stunning collection of 3,4 and 5 bed homes" that are being built?!

The F -35 can have as many expensive weapons on it as you like but it's not going to protect Britain from it's current greatest threat which is some brainwashed civilian with a few pounds of semtex strapped to themselves.

Or from Ed Miliband either

At least they are doing something productive with a closed airfield though. Lot's of jobs and money brought into the area due to the redevelopment is always going to take precedant over another air musuem.

Have a google of RAF Upwood and look what happens when old airfields don't get redeveloped

They have been extremely difficult to deal with over essential spare parts they have had from us to support their operation, some of which should have been forwarded on to another Lanc out in Lincolnshire and still haven't, and some for which we are still waiting for payment for five months on. Re: Modern Military in the UK - have you lost interest too?

I agree. Pretty much when I do hear a fast jet around here these days it's either a Typhoon or an F15. Admittedly a bit of an excitement with a F15 coming down recently! To see a Tornado low level is rare around here these days but when I do.........ooooohhhhhhh reminds me of mid to late 90s!

Too little Spitfire

Too much irritating gabbling Northerner
Not a proper Northerner though! Albeit very different to my part of Lincolnshire. Hopefully 2015 will be his year at the TT!

Re: RAF BBMF To Host Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum Lanca

well I guess there is a limit to what you can do with 2 Lancasters in relative close formation and perhaps the reasoning for no solo display is the fact that people wanted to see 2 flying together as the spectacle?? I think that's a crucial line. Everyone has seen a Lancaster on it's own but never ...
