Re: Hornet!
Hornet AJ-404 called up for a fuel divert to Yeovilton but was advised by London Mil that Yeovilton was closed and was sent to Lyneham. Hornet AJ-107 was an emergency divert (fuel?) and again went to Lyneham. Both departed later in the evening back to the Carrier. Whilst there is some chance of fuel...

Re: Badminton Air Shows
I too was on that Herald flight, final row of seats on the starboard side if I recall correctly. The pilot performed quite a tight display at Badminton and resulting in one of the enthusiast passengers being quite ill and having to go on to oxygen. I'd forgotten about the low pass at Blackbushe thou...

Re: Popham's Bank Holiday Weekend Activities! 40+ Images!
you at Compton Abbas this coming Sunday for the 200+ expected(weather permitting of course)? We're a bit spoilt for choice this coming weekend with fly-ins at Popham, Compton and Kemble. As my eldest lad has a football tournament on the Saturday it will have to be the Sunday when I get out. Whilst ...

Chris,
As I wasn't able to attend this year I was hoping someone would post a set of images. Looks like it was a reasonable turn out when taking into account the weather conditions.
Excellent work and thanks for posting.

Re: SPTA - info required please.
Hi David As I am sure you will have guessed, there are many parts of the SPTA that remain out of bounds to unauthorised persons for large parts of the year. That also applies to public rights of way which are covered by further bylaws that restrict access as required by the MOD. However, as you will...

Rich A great set there from you. The undersides are very well illuminated. VL was quiet as expected, SAR Sea King on air test, Piston Provost and a single Hawk. Just checked my SBS log for the day and found that I missed Airforce One going overhead whilst I was changing that punctured tyre at 06:30 ...

Re: Painted Algerian Merlin
Will it be on SPTA soon If it's the same Algerian machine I saw on the back of a low loader on the A303 on Friday PM, I doubt it. Rumour has it on its way to Boscombe for airlifting out to Algeria. Why it didn't fly to Boscombe I don't know, my guess as it was being roaded out is that it was on its...

I used this to set my micro AF adjustments....

Thanks too for the really useful link. I think micro adjustments to the focusing is a job for a quiet evening when I'm not going to be disturbed by the kids etc. That test screen is enough to give you a right headache.

Fleet Air Arm Museum
RNAS Yeovilton was quiet on Friday afternoon with the only highlight being the Algerian EH101 Merlin being taken away on a low loader and causing some traffic chaos on the A303. I had decided before Christmas that I would spend more time visiting and photographing the three service air museums. The ...

Re: 7D makes its low-level debut in the Lake District...
John At -4 plus wind chill my pics would be a little soft or alot worse!!! I've read on DPReview that the 7D can be noisier than the 40D at low ISO where there is poor light and/or exposure. As you've done, a quick run through NeatImage does the trick and I wouldn't be concerned about it. A couple t...
