Re: RAF Finningley Airshows; 1984 - 91

Brilliant post!
I was at most of them except 1985 as was down the Falkland Islands.

I worked on the show days, but managed to get some photos of my own, will have to have a scout around in the loft for the old photos.

Thanks for sharing, bought back some great memories.

Re: Pensacola: Blue Angels practice and Naval Aviation Museu

Excellent post, I did this a few years ago & was fortunate to see the full display.
They have had a move around, as some of the airframes are located different to when we were there.
Other plus side is its free entry too!

Why would you want your name on a Red Arrow? Who's going to see it except the ground crew? Whats the point? Yawn......... Your money will go towards The RAF Museum's RAF Centenary Programme. You also couldn't see your name on the Vulcan bomb bay doors either when it was flying, but people still gav...

RAF Scampton air show?

Just seen this.

http://thelincolnite.co.uk/2016/02/new- ... n-in-2017/

Not sure if it could be held on the same scale as Waddington given the structure & layout of the Airfeild.

Wouldn't have the capacity to park as many spectators or exhibit static aircraft.

Hope to be proved wrong though.

Re: Leeds East (ex RAF Church Fenton) air show

It doesn't say what date the airshow is on the website, it only says that online tickets stop on 26th September 2015. Noticed there's a picture of Typhoon on the main page but the event isn't listed on the RAF website. The air show is on Saturday 26th September. They are still putting the show toge...
