Haven't taken part in one of these in ages!
Something (hopefully) a bit different - a civvy Alpha, taken at Oshkosh back in 2016:

That Tracker is a fantastic addition, like everyone else I had no idea there's even a flying example in Europe!

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
His strike-rate over the last few years is actually really impressive in terms of travelling to see various rarities which subsequently show up at RIAT.
Maybe we should all club together and buy him a ticket to Kazakhstan... Sam?

Wonderful news about the Spanish F-5s... and a Czech Gripen for the flying display as well. Lovely stuff.

Nice set but that A400 is never going to get refuelled by that A330 unless he gets his arse into gear, he's all over the place. Lovely set Andy, it was indeed a great weekend. Let's hope that there will be another BAF Days at some point in the future... KB is such a splendid venue that it de...

Re: RIAT 2024 wishlist.
Something I thought of today, the return of some pyrotechnics! It feels like it's been too long since we've had some explosions along the runway! Apache 2019 i'd guess the last time? ‘Twas yes, hoping for the Czech Alca tactical demo this year as they couldn’t last year That's a great shout. I've a...

Lovely stuff Mr Deadwood - I really must get up to Lossie sometime this year! That head-on shot of the P-3 is... [chef's kiss].

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
Wonder how many days they did at Oshkosh this year ? If it’s the back end of the week we can hope they might turn up. Wishful thinking The Raptor flew pretty much every day of the week at Oshkosh this year... it definitely flew on the Monday, for example, which is usually the 'slowest' of the daily...

Re: RIAT 2024 wishlist.
What’s the chance of the Blue Angels coming over for European tour, been so long since they were last in the UK. Sadly I've given up hope of ever seeing them in Britain. According to wikipedia their 1992 displays were part of their only European tour of the past 50 years. They flew at the KLu show ...

Lovely stuff matey, those Danish F-16s and the head-on shot of the E-2C are just brilliant.
I must get back up again at some point, though sadly unlikely to happen this calendar year...

Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2024
Interesting... so back to Jagel then. I enjoyed 2014 and it's a beautiful part of the world. Agreed it is a beautiful unspoilt part of the world. However I felt that the 2014 event itself was hugely disappointing. The spotters were crammed in and poorly placed for anything other than taxi shots (if...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
I'd suggest (as I do not know) it's been the case/a possibility for a long while, probably since after 2008, but its only come to light recently via a combo of reasons but three main ones. FOMO following Covid. Far less military shows in both the UK and Western Europe with many ending just before C...

Re: Malta Airshow 2023
The Sunday flying display was cancelled, anyone know why? We’re thinking about going next year assuming it will be a similar date and we’re just wondering about how logistically fragile the show is. To be fair we’re probably going to Malta anyway but it would be nice to plan dates to catch the show...

Re: Leuchars 1996 Battle of Britain show
An absolute classic. The B-1B display that year was fantastic... I'm sure I've told this story before but my family lived in Crail at the time, and when I got back home my dad and brother, who had spent the afternoon working in the back garden, asked me what had got airborne at around 4pm. The noise...

Re: NATO & Czech Air Force Days 2023
I thought Radom was the worst organised airshow I've ever attended, well Ostrava might have just taken the no.1 spot. 3h queue to get in by car, 40min wait to use the toilet which costs money, 40min wait to buy drinks/food (of course you couldn't buy both from one place as they only sold either foo...
