Norwegian DAs are fine, Swiss DAs are fine with some caveats. Swedish DAs are still an issue.
I welcome the return of loops and rolls to jet displays!
And the issue with swept wing is indeed different handling characteristics, particularly stall / spin.

If an F-35 can't swat a 40 year old opponent from the sky I would be seriously worried. I'm sure a Tornado F.3 can put up a decent fight against a Vampire F.1...!

Re: Wellesbourne Demolition Plan
Guess I imagined seeing 558 regularly get airborne in less than 2000 ft. Not disputing that at all, but '558 was considerably lighter post-restoration than any "in service" Vulcan. Not by as much as you'd think - published figures vary but the most I can find is that she was a bit less le...

Re: Wellesbourne Demolition Plan
And you still haven't addressed why he had the aircraft delivered to a field designed for Ansons and Wellingtons which had never been extended - the runway was half the length required for a Vulcan take off even at minimum weight. Guess I imagined seeing 558 regularly get airborne in less than 2000...

Re: Little Gransden Air & Car Show 2016 - Sunday 28th August
As for aerobatics, the model aircraft did go completely out of control and very spectacularly caught fire. It crash landed not that far from where "viewers" outside the official viewing area were positioned last year, till they were moved on. The model pilot had spotted the fire and was a...

Re: Little Gransden Air & Car Show 2016 - Sunday 28th August
Little Gransden is easily the worst offender of all the venues on the calendar for liveside interlopers. As Dan says, how many "official photographers" does such a small event need? Where are these "official" photographs used? As I run airside photography at Gransden perhaps you...

The one that got so few bookings in the UK it ended up in Australia... but about as likely as the 262 to turn up at Legends I suspect.

Re: Flying Legends 2016
There's only one vintage jet that would "fit" - the Me-262 - and frankly its display routine is beyond dull. Belly pass, belly pass, straight line, belly pass, belly pass, land. And it's small so at jet display distances it'll be a dot in the frame unless you're toting 600mm or above. The ...

No sign of 109, Corsair, Mig15, Ha200, Alpha Jet. Only one Skyhawk and it didn't fly... a good show so far but obviously lacking the star acts... MiG29 was the best routine by far.

We assume Growler jming but there is another interesting aspect of the Raptor being used. Along with the F-35, the F-22's radar has an extremely highly classified electronic attack capability. Extremely highly classified? Blimey. Is that better than top secret or not as good? As classified really d...

I went and watched from Grange Road as I no longer wish to support a venue which clearly doesn't give a tinker's cuss for the public. A poor show. Even from outside the Lancasters were dreary dull. How frustrating to see them fannying around for 10 mins in the vicinty while the commonly seen BBMF S...

Re: Little Gransden Air & Car Show 2014
Au contraire... we've tweaked the layout each year for the last few years and this year the crowd area was expanded towards the taxiway area, thus barnstormers no longer had room to use that area as it was full of parked display aircraft. If we hadn't expanded the crowd area it would have been stand...
