Re: Shuttleworth Uncovered 4 October 2015

I thought, as a whole, that the show wasn't as good as usual at Shuttleworth - it felt like something was missing compared to the others I've attended this season. Strange how two people interested in aviation can go to the same event, stand fairly close to each other and have complete opposite opi...

Re: Shuttleworth Uncovered 4 October 2015

Stunning display from XH558... Lots of power, lots of noise... Car alarms going off by the dozen... Lots of flies in eyes amongst the crowd... I was rather underwhelmed by it, noise aside. Not a patch on how it was flown at the Military Pageant in July. Out with a whimper, sadly. Didn't see anyone ...

Re: Duxford September Show 2015

Such draconian measures are completely contradicting the much accepted fact people who go to airshows want a visual spectacle that impresses. Yes, that spectacle needs to be safe - surely a closer Old Warden style event with no aerobatics would be much better received than this current state of eff...

Re: Old Sarum Airshow- 12th & 13th September

Ticket checking was a bit of farse. I brought three tickets but could have shown any old email and would have got in. That really needs to be improved. Towards the car park end, there was no commentary at all, the mass exodus made me check XH558's Twitter account to see if it were still displaying. ...

I was lucky enough to be in Singapore for the fly past and I have to see was easily the best I've ever seen, far more dynamic than anything I've ever seen in the UK.

Re: Concorde...Return to flight!

Hasn't anyone mentioned the fact that they achieved it with the Vulcan so therefore it's perfectly possible? *sarcasm mode off* I'm no engineer but you're talking about one aircraft capable of around 600 mph and another capable of around 1300 mph. The cost, not to mention the paperwork issues would...

Re: Flying Legends 2015

Thought it was an great show with lots of highlights, Mustangs', Curtiss four ship, Red Bull team, to name a few. Did anyone else see the Shuttleworth Gladiator's trying landing on Sunday? Looked fairly dramatic from the tank bank end with the aircraft facing back towards the M-11 when it stopped.

Re: Classic Evening Airshow - 23rd May

Interesting to read the comments here from people who have not been to Old Warden before. Yes, it is a wonderful place and I am fortunate to live less than thirty miles away so I am able to visit quite often. I have to say I was a little disappointed by Saturday's show. But for the strange combinat...

Never saw a picture of the place looking anything other than a ghost town. The future of the majority of their aircraft at Newquay must now really hang in the balence.

Really great set of images, for my money easily the best scheme for a Hunter.
