Mojo back with a bang!

Hello everyone, After a covid induces renaissance that hit the buffers, followed by a double and a blank, I seem to have hit the sweet spot again with the mojo in 2023 so here is a quick run down on the ones over the finishing line so far this year. Mix of Hataka Red, AK, Alclads and Tamiya for the ...

Re: B-24 Liberator in the UK in 1982?

So here's something that's been bugging me for a while (nearly 40 years in fact :astonished:) - back in the early 80s, when I was a regular planespotter, I remember seeing what appeared to be a B-24 Liberator(!), in WW2-era USAAF olive drab/neutral gray colours, flying in the vicinity of Edinburgh ...

Re: Catalina loch Ness difficulties

Ouch.....that's going to be fun changing that while on the water....... :slight_frown: I wonder when that was last done in the UK? From the Fundraising link above :- ' In order to get the aircraft back to Duxford we need to extract her from the Loch and onto dry land as soon as possible so that the...

Very nice shot indeed. But my word, that scheme is hideous. Utterly tasteless.
From someone who is not a supporter of the Union, i actually quite like it and hope i can get the chance to see it one day.

Re: Lockdown Build thread

Hello again all, If it wasnt for having to use up annual leave, i should have returned to normal shifts at work today, so i should really bring this thread up to date now that my lockdown is essentially over. Part of the reason for a delay is, in the missing 2 months, my wife and i have been getting...

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?

In the case of the Spitfire/P-40 deal, it was forces outside the control of the parties involved in recovering that airframe that shafted the deal. And that Spitfire i believe is to be a flyer, which i would rather see than it sitting gathering dust in a store. That completely misses the point. The...

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?

Fantasy fairyland, really Mike, and what about before lockdown? And surely the reality is that the RAF museum has far more resources than some might care to remember. For example did they not exchange a valuable Spitfire airframe in a deal that was supposed to bring the ex Dennis Copping P-40 to th...

Re: BA retires entire Boeing 747 fleet

Duxford runway ample length to accept any airliner whatsoever. BDXJ is preserved at Dunsfold. Hardly a glowing example of a preserved aircraft. And i have to question if its preservation in the context of this thread, or more likely as a film set that i believe it is still used for now and again? T...

Re: Not The Way To Social Distance at Airports

Surely the highly skilled ground crew should have put chocks in front of each set of wheels to avoid the aircraft running away after being sat in the same place for 3 months whilst leaking brake pressure? It's not rocket science, is it? Being "highly skilled" ground crew myself, i have to...

Hello again everyone, I have to say this is now a case of the good, the bad and the downright ugly! Really nice as usual Derek. Everything seems in more realistic proportion the larger the scale - hard to explain. As a 1/72 builder, i struggle at times to get the subject looking right in a picture. Always put it down to how lenses work at different focal lengths and grabbing a bit of distance usua...

Hello again, I really wasnt happy with the way the camo turned out on this one so tried brush painting some touch ins, but it didnt work too well. Andy,
I can only second what Seamus says as it was his fault that i bought one of the 130s originally, then moved onto a 116C.

As for compressor, i have one similar to the Bartsharps with a tank.
