Very sad scenes. To paraphrase an old saying: “Never underestimate the power of a democratically elected lunatic with access to Twitter”.
Not for at least next twelve hours....

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

How will the gov know the figures of those carrying the virus if they can not be tested due to having to stay at home with lockdown, will it be on a case study of the figures of those admitted to hospital and tested there? because surely they can not know the figures for the Whole of the UK - just ...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Does anyone know why there were 80,000 cases reported on the 29th Dec? I assume that this was an anomaly from a Christmas backlog of non reporting days? At that rate they will run out of people in the country to test, me thinks they are telling "tiny weeny little porkies" or shall we say getting in...

Not going to disagree with your point Tommy but it did also remind me of what seemed like a contradictory view from Keir Starmer yesterday that he wanted a national lockdown within 24hrs but he was explicitly not calling for schools to close today as well.

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

As for the UK, and partly for the sake of argument, I think there is a case to suggest that the four countries should be looked at separately; the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Ireland administrations all run their own health services and have very demonstrably taken their own routes, often for poli...

If the correct public health response to this is to entirely close the French borders why does that not also apply to the Republic of Ireland? They have. The Irish Government is set to impose travel restrictions on flights and ferries from Britain to Ireland. It is understood the restrictions will ...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I mean, I think that’s ludicrous, and no one has any evidence to support their “definitely” claims. I’m wary of straying off topic, too, but it sort of undermines many Brexit arguments, too, such as EU member states acting with sovereignty to close their borders individually. That was said time and...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I think the arguments of “health discrimination” (no such thing; presumably one means “disability discrimination”, but even for that to apply, it has a certain threshold) are a bit of a red herring, tbh. We don’t know what will happen or who has said anything yet. As far as I can tell, vaccination ...

Re: Is anybody happy with the Brexit white paper?

Why on earth under the current crisis hasn't this been delayed or even put to a referendum as I am sure a lot of peoples minds would be different now. the same reason there was a referendum in the first place, maintaining power. if johnson delayed he'd be seen as going back on his word to "get brex...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

The point is that ItR has a tendency to take something that may have some small contact with reality behind it and then proceed to bend it so out of shape that it loses even that credibility. A few pages back he referenced that his GP had told him not to have the vaccine (presumably PFIZER) which h...

So what if RIAT say,no proof of vaccine, No Entry? Then surely that is Health Discrimination, stopping someone from doing something like entry that is not thier fault. OK, lets clarify something first, you have a GP's instruction/letter stating that you should not receive any form of COVID vaccine?...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I have just been reading up on how vaccines work for both covid and influenza - they incubate the virus and grow it, then they kill it and inject it as the vaccine, our immune system then detects this as a threat and our anti-bodies kill off the alien predator (virus) isn't that the same thing our ...
