Lossiemouth from the Fence in the Sixties

My edit of original footage by Alex Garden. All the Royal Navy / Fleet Air Arm types you would expect including Buccaneer, Scimitar, Sea Venom, Sea Prince, Hunter, Gannet, plus a few tasty visitors including RAF Meteors, Belgian Starfighters and some rare footage of Dutch Navy S.2 Trackers and S.58 ...

RNAS Lossiemouth Navy air Day 1968

Alex Garden footage, my edit. The ultra low Red Arrows at the end has to be seen to be believed. The 5 Buccaneer formation aerobatics is also pretty cool.

I've got some of Alex's b/w negs that are pre-1965 at Lossie Air Days. Image quality isn't great unlike the subject matter! Will post a few at some point.

Leuchars Battle of Britain Airshow 1966

The best bits for me are the Javelins and the 74 Squadron Lightnings. The topside MK.3 Shack flypast is brilliant too.

Re: Yak crash at Wanaka

It would certainly be interesting to see a transcript or hear a recording of the tower/pilot comms just prior to the accident. From a legal point of view there would be a hell of a difference between, "clear land runway xx grass" and "land runway xx grass your discretion".

Re: Printer will only print black

I had the same issue with another Canon printer. The print head had died. I bought another print head off ebay as a new one was more than the price of a new printer!! Guess what, it died too after about 3 months of use. I can't say I'm too impressed with Canon printers. The drivers provided for Wind...

Thanks for posting these. I should've been there myself but ongoing engine trouble prevented flight.

Re: Lossiemouth 1980s

Now those bring back some memories, thanks for posting. As a footnote, the F-16s arrived with the stylised numbering on the fin but the range controllers had difficulty reading the stylised numbers so plain white numbers were applied at Lossie after they arrived.

Anyone hear about German Typhoons in March? Unless there's been an official press release you're wasting your time asking a question like that on this forum. You can guarantee that those in the know will have been sending PMs and texts if there is a rumour of a deployment but won't put their neck o...

Leuchars Lightnings

Posted already on FC but just in case any of you don't go there. A video of Lightnings at Leuchars shot between 1966 and 1974. All the footage was taken before they started to paint them camouflage so they are all silver machines. Edit - youtube tags don't seem to be working so just click the link. m
