Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread
Did the Zambian C-27 have a potentially provocative name by any chance?

Re: Sustainability @ RIAT
No jollies in helicopters to get aerial shots of rare visitors arriving over the airfield. I wonder if this sort of thing could be done using a drone? I'm sure it's a bit trickier if they're using it to film/photograph arriving aircraft due to some pilots not wanting a drone in their airspace, but ...

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Awesome news about the Black Eagles.
I seem to recall that the last time they were here in 2012 the jets were shipped over in cargo planes and reassembled at an RAF base for test flights. I wonder what the plan is this time?

Not Another RIAT Thread...
At the risk of boring everyone with yet another thread about RIAT, here are a selection of my pictures from the week. All were taken at Totterdown Hill campsite. Enjoy. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48417649721_4af414b11b_h.jpg Swiss Hornet 1 by Dan Hamilton , on Flickr https://live.staticflic...

Re: RIAT 2050 wish list
Due to global warming and the melting of the polar ice caps, RIAT 2050 will be a seaside show. George Bacon will still be constantly reminding us to check out the Techno Zone, even though it's a bit wet now.

Re: RIAT 2018 discussion
I've just watched a video on YouTube of the 2008 fly past and counted 90, which would seem appropriate. I know times have changed even since then with regard to the number of aircraft that the RAF are able to muster, but it makes the prospect of only 50 aircraft for a much more significant anniversa...

No offence to anyone with kids as I have 2 myself but last year was my 1st ever RIAT and I camped right across from the base.....I queued from 6 am to make sure I got a spot at the rope....Later in the day some kids started to try and get sitting in front of me and how did they do this? By climbing...

I've just heard on the local news that the planning permission to build 1,800 homes on the site has been approved on appeal. Guess that's another great airshow gone then.

The BBMF Thompson formation display was one of the biggest surprises, not to mention one of the best displays I've seen in many years, let alone 2017. Hats off to them for coming up with something new for this year. My overall highlight though has to be the moment when I was standing outside my tent...
