Re: Nellis AFB - Aviation Nation 2025 ( Pic Heavy )

WOW, this is a show I had my eye on, looked good. Few shots there stand out for me, the Raptor+F5 & some of those Aggressor Vipers are amazing! Yep, they are very photogenic aren’t they? It’s a good show and if you can tie it up with either DM or March the weekend before/after with say Planes o...

Love that test coloured B-52 and not every day you see four Mig-17’s in formation. Shame about the late withdrawals though.
Thanks for posting. 👍🏻

Wow. great stuff. If they’re ‘off’ please don't look at my images, you’ll be recoiling in horror!
Top shooting as always.👍🏻

Nellis AFB - Aviation Nation 2025 ( Pic Heavy )

Well, after missing out on the show at Davis Monthan due somebody pulling the 3-pin plug out of the Hayes sub station it was second time lucky for myself and fellow forumite Chris M for a 'work' trip to the US and a first use of a new Z8 mirrorless along with 180-600mm lens. Thankfully the show didn...

Re: MCAS Yuma 15th March 2025

As I'm planning to attend this one, I thought I'd post the info for it. Quite a short show, starting at 10.30 and finished by 1.30 but what a line-up! https://www.yumaairshow.com/information/schedule The highlights for me being the Marine Aviation Capabilities demo, especially if the CH-53K that's ...

Re: MCAS Yuma 15th March 2025

I have been to this Airshow several times, the last time in 2023. In my experience the security teams (generally just ordinary US Marines) are strict about the no camera bags/rucsacs. I purchased a clear bag ( shoulder beach bag) here in the UK and no problem with that and carrying 2 camera bodies ...

Does anybody know how the entrance works for this? It says the event is free but do I still need to register for a ticket or anything? There seems to be little information available on line regarding this currently. Probably preaching to the converted but dont forget your passport being a Jonny For...

Re: MCAS Miramar Airshow 27-29 September 2024

Ref the Uber cost wise you would be much better just hiring a car at the airport. Is there a reason you'd be averse to hiring a car at all as IMVHO that would be a lot cheape and possibly easier to with less waiting at either end. I'm guessing ,as you are asking, that you dont fancy car hire for wha...

Re: MCAS Miramar Airshow 27-29 September 2024

For those that have been before, is there likely to be more added to the static line up? Also is there any chance of extra participation in the flying program? Even if not a 'proper' full display, but a flypast etc I would say pretty unlikely that there will be any change in the flying given my lim...

A great set of images there Sean and especially loving the Ghost Squadron ( hoping to see them in Houston later this year ) and the dusk/night shots. Thankyou for posting.

Re: Luke Days '24 ( Pic Heavy! )

So many great shots from both of you. The static was amazing with so many specials & rarities. :sunglasses: It appears the flying display was a few notches higher than the standard US. format. That "Blacksnakes" A-10 Demo' has to be a get it while you can? Biggest concern for me is th...

Thanks for your messages!! Sorry for so many questions, only ever done shows in the UK. I will definitely get some of the 1 gallon see through bags. I'm not a photographer so I don't need to worry about cameras etc. Hopefully will just need to bring sun-cream! Was in the same boat until a couple of...

Some beauts there Chris - Love the A-10 , T-bird abd F-35 top sides especially with the shockwave forming on the latters fast pass.
How you got the Holloman flare drop I’ll never know!! 😂
Great to see a variety of A10’s at Luke too and that Blacksnake scheme especially is just stunning.

Thanks for the info @spellow3010 Sounds like a good show and it’s always strange they put El C and Yuma on the same day given their proximity.
Will have to give it a whirl next time.
And nice shots @ChrisM 👍🏻 See, it was easy catching the flares wasn’t it? 😂😂

Re: MCAS Yuma '24

How was El Centro? There didn’t seem to be much info in the run up and I’ve seen no reviews since either. Did there happen to be one of the few remaining Harriers there as one was pencilled in for Yuma but ended up as a no show?

Love the Anson pictures. As for the Mosquito start up; dry grass, flames out of the exhaust, wooden aircraft - what could possibly go wrong!

Re: MCAS Miramar Airshow 27-29 September 2024

Just to add my two penneth after a few recent trips, I can echo the points above but things do seem to vary between marine and air force stations, but the overriding bit of advice is probably the most obvious- don’t forget your passport as for us Jonny Foreigners only that ID will do. Two recent MCA...

Luke Days '24 ( Pic Heavy! )

Part 2 of March's work/aviation extravaganza was a trip to Luke AFB on the Western outskirts of the Phoenix metro area.Having long wanted to attend this show after a six year hiatus it did not disappoint and in contrast to Yuma's short and sweet flying display the weekend show was full of both milit...

MCAS Yuma '24

The first of a couple of shows in March with my old mucca @chrism Thankfully work and play coincided nicely after a bit of planning and Yuma was first on the list. First thing to note... if you are driving East from say SoCal watch out for the cheeky timezone change as you pass over the nearby state...

Re: MCAS Miramar Airshow 27-29 September 2024

Have to agree with @boff180 ‘s comments above the MAGTF demo is corking and very well choreographed. I would post my own pictures but Boff’s cracking photos and video’s such as https://youtu.be/ACnQiPRsvxQ?si=qC7wFhpDukr6LzVW would do it far more justice than mine. The sheer scale is mind blowing an...

A couple of nice additions to the flying with Bernie Vasquez’ razorback P-47 and the Lewis C-121.

Also, with the govt shutdown temporarily averted looks like the mil demo’s are still good to go too.
