Re: RIAT 2018 discussion

I just find it slightly confusing as to why the RNZAF snubbed RIAT, which is the official celebration of RAF 100, and a larger event, with three days in which to display rather than one. I mean I'm going to both, I just think it's a shame that they can't manage to send a static item to RIAT. It cou...

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2018 - [Main Topic]

I'd be surprised to see anything other than the 'classic' display line featuring at the airshow this year.

Amongst the RAF and the airshow itself, it sounds like all is in hand.

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 - [Main Topic]

I watched online and thought Preoch and team put on the best show they could have, only let down by the weather and the RAF. The RAF need to go away and take a long look in the mirror. How many more ludicrous changes of display axis will we see this season? Contradiction there, as has been pointed ...

Re: Monarch Airlines To Cease Trading?

If, this morning, the rumours seemed to be self-perpetuating and were being fuelled by internet forums and social media then I thought it might be wise if UKAR didn't get involved in passing on half-baked speculation with little or no basis in fact. That's all. Sorry if that upset you. Hopefully th...

Re: Flying Legends & the Naughty Field(s)

Playing Devil's advocate, you could extrapolate that to the hobby in general. Any pilot looking for a nearby field to put-down in is arguably going to be suffering from a mechanical failure rather than being out of control or misjudging aerobatics, so what's the distinction between people being in ...

With all due respect the minister is talking ballcocks! because............... From the aforementioned link; "I've not actually landed a 747 at Heathrow but I've landed the simulator and the pilot has a lot of other things to concentrate on so we're not quite sure what they saw so I think we s...

Oh yes, I also shot a lot of civilian stuff (+/- 115 airliners) but it's another matter.

The only reason I ask is I was down there on the March 3rd. Not often you get line up next to a pair of A-4s.

I wouldn't usually think much of the error but the fact that I'm going to an event with a night time air display in Australia only next week did unfortunately awake my irritating pedantic side!

Oh well at least you can get a good close look at a Spitfire in a natural setting surrounded by hundreds of people. Shake that money tin.

Might as well poke your lens through the fence at Coningsby.

It also helps that its also a very good drive, avoid the M5 route though the on...
