Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

It’s not really a push back , it’s a case of stating the same fact in a less scary way. 30% more deadly sounds a lot scarier than saying instead of it killing 10 in 1,000 as now, the new variant might kill 13 in 1,000. It’s still 30% more deadly, it just explains what that actually means in real te...

Some scientific push back being reported in relation to the 'more deadlier' briefing yesterday! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55779171

Also reports that France may now be delaying the second vaccination dose to help increase numbers; covered in here https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-55778052

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

You may well be right FGR2 & Vallance was certainly much more measured in his overall assessment of the developing situation.

Some more details on the developing situation in this new link c/w a few more caveats: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-55768627

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Now the new variant is reported as having an increased rate of mortality. Having watched the briefing, Sir Patrick Vallance did qualify the PM's initial comment and say that it "..... may increase mortality rates" as now being reported in the BBC headlines! "Sir Patrick Vallance says there are curr...

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2021

Any model makers amongst you may have seen that the new box art for the Airfix Vulcan features XM594 that we display at Newark; the aircraft being on loan from the Lincolnshire’s Lancaster Association. For us this is a long anticipated release, after we provided access for the Airfix team to scan an...

Re: RAFM disposals

Howard. Thankyou for your reply and professional insight to the preservation world. Happy to have tried to shed some light on what's involved. I found it quite therapeutic to compile the response, that brought back some good memories. The Museum's Registration process and working with the RAFM enco...

Re: RAFM disposals

Howard. You may be in a good place to answer these questions. When you enter into negotiations with an organisation such as RAFM regarding a loan of an exhibit how much say do you have in how it is displayed ? I ask you this because Newark once had the RAFM Havard and Oxford on display. How much of...

Re: RAFM disposals

Thanks TT and I take on board your comments. The phrase 'allocating' is also influenced by the invisible input that also comes in i.e. not just through fora. With staff furloughed I've been looking after one of the main email accounts; and on my watch the main traffic has centred on using ".... all ...

Re: RAFM disposals

I fully appreciate the debate aspect, in this case elsewhere about 'supposed' disposals, that may or may not be happening. As someone who almost lost a hard-won delivery location for a Saab Viggen aircraft, due to speculation and 'debate' based on 100% wrong 'inside' information, I tend to be a bit ...

Interesting to see that the 'faithful' are allocating airframes to everyone again! It's also interesting to note from twitter that the Boulton Paul Balliol T2 has been restored at Cosford by the Boulton Paul Association, and has headed off south. Where ... Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

To me, using people ...

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2020

I am actually at the museum & I have done a quick bit of research. G-AGOH was flown in to the ex RAF Winthorpe runway on 12th July 1995 and was removed from site by road in April 2007. Sorry that I cannot help you with its present location. Have you tried scanning through a recent edition of Wreck &...

I'm not sure where G-AGOH is now located, it's certainly not at Newark; here's our current exhibit list http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/Aircraft-List

It left us around 15 years ago (no access to detailed notes at the moment to be more precise) - sorry that I cannot be more helpful!
