Re: Duxford Diary 2024

Quick pit stop around lunchtime to look around the PR exhibition yesterday and had the added bonus of catching Marinell departing. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53551762803_cfb1a96f12_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53550701802_9124fad46c_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/535...

"Yes, it's an Extender!"

Finally caught one (two, actually) of these in the air today. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53549684123_7fa711366b_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53548621987_099859480a_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53548621982_997ba823be_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5354862...

Re: Duxford Diary 2024

PL965’s underwing camera blisters were fitted in 2020. It was noted and photographed at the time in the relevant North Weald Diary thread. I was told that they are the original components that were fitted to that airframe during its wartime service.

Very grim day at the fence, the weather promised clear skies and sun, alas it never materialised.
BBC forecast fooled you too huh? So annoying, but you did well in the conditions.

Not sure if it's been noted or not, but showing with the title of the review for EAA Oshkosh on the home screen :)
My fault. I’ll fix it later, thanks.

One taken last year from a bedroom window: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53230845052_8acaad0dee_h.jpg Or from a park that is just five-ten minutes walk away. Could photograph these from the doorstep but they'd be backlit. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52137387710_14751f2d5f_h.jpg https:/...

Lovely photos. I take it you were in a very different vantage point to the rest of the crowd?
All taken from outside the fence. The crowds in the background of the first set are from the spot where the second set were taken and vice-versa.

Selection of cars

I've been asked to photograph a few cars for friends and family recently so here's a selection. Some were for sale auctions, some for fun and one is just a grab in a car park. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53229670525_f154c9c6ce_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53116872400_961a557cb1_...

Twilight pics then... the runs were just after sunset so had to bump up the ISO, half an hour earlier and the light was/would have been incredible. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53228252322_58620975a5_o.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53228252332_ab834f50cb_o.jpg https://live.staticfli...

Great catch in lovely weather, the A330 is a fine looking machine.

Hopefully they paint one up in retro colours like they have with one of the CC150s.

Nice pictures! Looks in pretty good nick! Reminds me of when the airport has it open day for the airshow and the Vulcan would taxi about. Thanks. She does look great, especially compared to how she was back during those open days in that very dark camo. I have some photos from the twilight run earl...

RAF Mildenhall 'Cobra Warrior 23-2'

Decent day in John's field yesterday with a good mix of traffic. A couple of the visiting Spang F-16s are in the 'Have Glass' scheme which at least makes an F-16 look different. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53173641250_6b26da3593_o.jpg Most of them are in the familiar two-tone grey. https://l...

Indian AF C-17 at Stansted

The Indian Air Force have become semi-regular in the last month or so, this the fifth visit since the start of August. CB-8011 was the only airframe to make more than one trip, departing earlier this evening.

Old Warden, via Duxford apparently. Wasp stopped at Duxford for fuel as I don't suppose there is much call to stock jet fuel at Old Warden.
